24 HOUR BEN AFFLECK CHANNEL COMING TO SATELLITE TV!
"All Affleck, All The Time" is the sloagan of the latest network project from TV juggernaut Viacom. AffleckVision, which the big V states is the first channel of its kind, will feature programming centered around box office star Ben Affleck.
"We're very excited to have Ben join the Viacom family and help create the first network of this type", network spokesman Jordan Lang said in a press conference late Wednesday. "When other networks start creating projects like CruiseVision, SchwarzeneggerVision, and BullockVision, we'll be proud to say that WE had the first."
Planned programming for the new channel will include Ben's theatrical work such as "Good Will Hunting", "Armageddon", and the network debut of "Jersey Girl" in late 2005. The short-lived, Affleck-produced series "Push, Nevada" and Liveplanet's "Project Greenlight" are also on the slate, with future programming projects to be announced as time permits. It's rumored that Affleck himself will host a daily or weekly talk show for the channel, and perhaps star in an exclusive AffleckVision sitcom.
A launch date for the new network has yet to be specified, but Lang stated that the current plan has the christening day of the network featuring a 24 hour marathon of "Gigli", back to back, similar to TBS's annual "A Christmas Story" stunt.
