Dogma sparks hate mail campaign in Britain

LONDON - The British distributors of the American movie Dogma are getting hate mail from religious protestors even before the movie is released in Britain.

Dogma is a satire starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as fallen angels. It's been branded as blasphemous in the United States by the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights.

In the United Kingdom, protesters say the film insults the virginity of Mary and Joseph and compares the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with sexual intercourse.

They also object to a female rock star, Canadian Alanis Morissette, playing the role of God.
