Dogma (Pre-Release Los Angeles Test Screening 5/14/99)

Review By Jordan Santos

Well yesterday night I was lucky to see Dogma before anyone. I sat in my sat, I wait, the curtain goes up and I have a great feeling. I won't spoil the movie movie but you'll feel right at home with this film when Jay says Snootch to the Motherf*cking Bootch.

The movie had many scenes of laughter, which made me cry my eyes out. The performances were great and to be serious some of the religion stuff actually comes in pretty well. I too am Catholic and I thought some points in the film to be pretty thought out to be put in the film. The movie was in the ranks of my other View Askew movies, but I this one was a little different. If you like Matt Damon or Affleck then you'll like them in this movie. They had witty dialogue and good scenes. Let's not forget Chris Rock and Linda Fiorentino who I thought were great. Well this was one heck of a film I'll tell you. It took a swing at the boundaries of movie making. And I might add that the cameos of Brian O'Halloran and Jeff Anderson was great. So all in all my glass was filled and I give this movie a thumbs up, four stars ****, and all the other stuff. Go see this film whenever it comes out. Trust me it won't let you down. Whoever was offered to see this film got a favor, and for those who passed it, they missed one the year's top films. This movie was very unique, it's in a class of it's own, and I liked it a lot better because I saw it for free, then paying. It's like what my grandmother always says why buy the cow when you get the sex for free. *Snoogans*
