![]() Guest Report By Zeebadaboodee Let me just say first that being engaged to a flight attendant has a lot of advantages, but one big disadvantage. One of the big advantages is that I get to fly just about anywhere for very little money. The big disadvantage? You fly stand-by. Now, normally that's not a problem at all, but when your city gets hit with 24 inches of snow in 24 hours the day prior to your departure date... it becomes one. I was supposed to leave for the Stash Gala on friday afternoon so i could get to the city that night to go out with a couple buddies. The storm hit on Rochester on Thursday and I heard the bad news. The airport was closed. After paying some guy $25 to plow me out on Friday afternoon, I decided to take my chances somewhere else so I opted to get in my car and head to Buffalo where the snow wasn't so bad. The lady at the tollbooth screamed at me as I headed west, "Don't come back!!" I didn't know what she meant until later when I found out they weren't letting people back into the city because of the State of Emergency that was in effect. That's okay, I didn't really want to go back. I wanted to go to Jersey. I finally made it onto the plane Saturday morning. A big relief came over me as the plane began to pull away from the gate. All they had to do was de-ice the plane and I was home free. Then the power went off. It seems that the man spraying the deicing fluid had "sprayed it in the wrong hole." So, back to the gate we went to "charge the plane back up." An hour-and-a-half later we were in the air. I was picked up at the Newark airport by a couple buddies and we headed to the Hoboken St. Patty's parade. despite the rain, we all managed to have a good time having a few beers and chatting with friends. Finally the time came for my friend Lou and I to head to Red Bank. As we pulled up to the Stash there was already a line full of Group 5 & 6'ers. We waited for a few minutes until Bryan Johnson told our group to head to the bus. Everyone got on and Brian O' Halloran started chatting with us about all the great things in store. Mewes was coming along as well but not before he remembered something he forgot to grab in the store. As he stood outside the bus in a state of confusion, Brian managed to keep us all entertained by making fun of Mewes and "voicing out" his thoughts. The tour was great as expected, and Brian was a phenomenal tour guide. He kept us entertained with anecdotes, jokes and facts the entire time. The tour was worth the $30 by itself if you ask me. At around 7pm we were allowed to enter the Store and let me tell you, it is not a sight to be missed. The props and other memorabilia from the four flicks made it a Kevin Smith fan's dream house. You could tell the all the Askewers were pretty tired but they still put on a great show. Kevin signed just about everything that was put in from of him (including signing the game of "Operation" that one girl bought), and everyone else was talking and having fun. Then, we saw the trailer... twice. All I can say is that it was amazing. I want to see this movie so badly now that it hurts (metaphorically speaking of course). After he showed the trailers and such, Lou and I realized that we were really tired, so we grabbed our stuff and headed out the door. But, not before we broke the "no cameras" rule by asking Kevin to get in a picture with us. With that, we headed back to our respective homes. He drove the 9 hour trip to Charlotte, NC and I boarded a plane back to Buffalo. I got home to find out that Rochester had gotten another 17 inches of snow (that's 43 in three days for those keeping track) while I was gone! Needless to say, the trip was worth every bit of what I had to go through to get there, and I can't wait for the Dogma premiere party.
