Announcing a New Look, A New Theme!
Well folks, we've been hinting a long time at the big change coming to the site, and this is it!!! We're pleased to
announce that we are now the net's foremost authority on
Paul Thomas Anderson! Our belief that the longer the film the
better. And why the change, you ask? Well, things in the
View Askew realm were just slowing down to an absolute crawl, especially with
no new film announcement and the Clerks animated series now an uncertainty. There just wasn't much to talk about anymore.
With PT, and his busy schedule and penchant for epic length features, we thought he would make the perfect transition for
a new fansite.
What can you expect? Well, look below at the first day's news and we'll see. From all of PT's favorite actors and their
upcoming projects, his always exciting girlfriend
Fiona Apple, and new projects of his own, we feel that PTA Central will
be one of the busiest spots on the web. And so, welcome! Let's see what we've got for ya today:
RUMOR MILL: Magnolia 6 Hour Director's Cut Expected On DVD!
We can't be certain, but rumor has it that PT's got a real treat in store for us with the
Magnolia DVD. In addition to
the already over 3 hours of released Magnolia footage, we hear that an ADDITIONAL 3 hours of cut footage will be restored to
the film for the flick's DVD release coming later this year. Now we can all enjoy the full extended 20 minute
Jason Robards
monologue, what the deal was with that closet corpse, an extended version of
William H. Macy's storyline, and lots more.
6 hours, baby!!! Oh yeah!!!! Now THAT'S a movie!
Julianne Moore's Upcoming Slate...
Julianne Moore, a favorite of PT's since her performance in
"Boogie Nights", has become one of the hottest properties in
Hollywood! As most of you know, she's signed on for the Clarice Starling role in the
"Silence of the Lambs" sequel
"Hannibal", and now
we hear she's in talks to play Amelia Earhart in the upcoming biopic. PT's sure got an eye for the talented, doesn't he?
Here's the story from Yahoo:
Julianne Moore, Oscar-nominated for her performance in Columbia's ``The End of the Affair'' is in early talks to star in
``I Was Amelia Earhart.''
The Fine Line Features project is based on Jane Mendelsohn's fictionalized 1996 biography of the famed aviatrix, and is
being directed by Fred Schepisi (''Six Degrees of Separation,'' ''Roxanne''), who is also rewriting the script.
A deal for Moore would require that ``Earhart'' take flight immediately following ``Hannibal,'' the long-awaited sequel
to ''The Silence of the Lambs''
While scheduling may still be problematic -- Moore had been attached to star in M. Night Shyamalan's ``Unbreakable''
opposite Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson only to ankle when the ``Hannibal'' role of FBI agent Clarice Starling
presented itself -- insiders are optimistic that the timing will work out.

Some PT vets making the rounds in theaters & video this year. First of all,
"For Love of the Game" with
John C. Reilly hits
video out April 4th. He's also in a little flick called
"The Perfect Storm", opening June 30th, in theaters.
Philip Baker Hall appears in
"Rules of Engagment", March 31st, in theaters.
Philip Seymour Hoffman
has a big role in the comedy "Flawless" on video April 18th.
Aimee Mann's new album, "Bachelor No. 2" is out now. Check it out or buy it if ya dug the Magnolia
