I have to say that i was completely shocked by the new road your site has taken. I have been a loyal NewsAskew reader since the beginning, and I always thought of your site as the pinnacle of View Askew fandom. The fact that you would be so willing to drop your coverage of View Askew and Kevin Smith so quickly, and without warning, and switch over to covering some frog-dropping, one-trick pony like PTA, is beyond belief. I am quite angered at this unexpected turn of events, and not only will I no longer be a visitor to your site, I will also spread the word to the REAL View Askew fans who may not yet learned of this outrage. This is a very sad day for me and for all the true fanboys out there, and I hope you one day come to realize just how much of a good thing you've thrown away.

Former fan vomits all over keyboard, shocked that where there was once Funny Jay and Silent Bob Shit I found Fiona tour dates. You guys had like the best View Askew website online. Excuse me? Hello? What one earth are you two bozos doing? Okay, don't get me wrong, i have nothing against PTA and definately nothing against Fiona Apple, but what about the MAN? Kevin Smith? Okay, sure there's a bottomless pit of nothingness in news... but he has such a strong fan base. How many hits do you get a day ALONE on Kevin? Sheesh.

But that's not the worse of it... the worse is you put up the PTA site under the domain name of "News Askew" That's just WRONG! And false advertising! That's just wrong! i mean think of all the "askew" fan-sites out there. 9/10 of them more than likely have a link to News Askew (cuz it is/was one of the best Askew sites on the net). Look, I appreciate all that you guys have done over the last few years to keep all of us view askew fans up to date on all of the current news but fuck this. I like Paul Thomas Anderson, too. He is a great director. But it feels like you guys sold out on Kevin Smith. The one site i went to every day was newsaskew. Even if the news wasn't that exciting, it was nice to know there wad a place I could go to see what's going on in the viewaskew-niverse. This sucks. I'm really disappointed.

I've been a regular at the newsaskew site off and on for the last two years, and I'm writing to tell you that I'm shocked and a little disturbed that the site has suddenly changed focuses. I mean, no offense to PTA, he's a great director, but when I come to Newsaskew, I expect just that, not the latest on something completely unrelated to the ViewAskewniverse. If news is slow, stop updating. You want to do a PTA site, do a PTA site, just don't call it newsaskew. I mean, TheForce.net (the only other fansite I hit on the 'net that compares with yours) doesn't just suddenly become a Star Trek site when news slows down. First of all, I have sent this to all three email addresses so it can be read as soon as possible. And now for business: I've been an avid reader of your site for over two years now. It's the only website I've made sure to take the time to check every day. You have catered to the needs of Kevin Smith's many fans for a long time. And I certainly hope--based solely upon today's date and the quote from an email about Smith's obsessive fans--that this is an April Fool's Day joke. I really do. Because if it isn't, I'm sorry to say that I will lose a lot of respect for the two of you that has grown over the years because of your loyalty to Kevin Smith, his films, and his fans. I was thrilled, but not surprised, by your new direction. I figured it was only a matter of time before you came to the same conclusion I did. I mean, "snootchie bootchies"? Who talks that way?

Now that you're firmly onboard the PTA train, I have to say I was a little disappointed by your non-mention of Circle In The Square's production of Sam Shepard's "True West", with Philip Seymour Hoffman and John C. Reilly swapping the lead roles from night to night. Don't make me come down there.
