Question: Brian: How many cousins do Dante have? TVG Clerks: It all depends on how many films Kevin will write. Question: Does the show afford you the chance to improv, or is Kevin still a Question: hard-case about making sure his dialogue is said word-for-word? TVG Clerks: I wouldn't say HARD CASE. TVG Clerks: But the guy loves his writing and his writing only... Question: How's Vulgar coming along? TVG Clerks: Vulgar is finished. And is now being submitted to various film festivals. TVG Clerks: I.E. Montreal, Vancouver, etc... Question: Which cartoons were your favorite growing up? TVG Clerks: Oh my God. Um... Can't help but Tom and Jerry if not most of Hanna Barberra stuff. TVG Clerks: Of course, the Simpsons. TVG Clerks: And a good bit of Japanese Anime. TVG Clerks: Fist of the North Star. TVG Clerks: Dragon Ball Z. TVG Clerks: I lived in Palasade Park for a time when I was young and it was in credibly Asian TVG Clerks: Neighborhood. TVG Clerks: Also Dragon Hunter. TVG Clerks: It's great hearing it in the original Japanese and a friend of mine would just tell me TVG Clerks: what they were saying. TVG Clerks: It's much more emotional that way. Question: What's the worst job you've all had? TVG Clerks: Worst job...I really didn't like my paper route as a kid. TVG Clerks: That was kind of a BS job, especially going around collecting in neighborhoods that TVG Clerks: were poor. TVG Clerks: It was like what's the point here. TVG Clerks: And in acting jobs, I try to avoid bad acting jobs, knock wood. Question: How did you and Kevin meet? TVG Clerks: I auditioned as an extra for Clerks. TVG Clerks: He already had the six principle characters cast and he really liked my audition enough TVG Clerks: to cast me as the lead.\ TVGLive2: Right now, we have Brian O'Halloran from the animated series, "Clerks: The Cartoon". Question: Jeff and Brian: Do you perform theatre? I seem to remember that Question: Brian did Jesus Christ Superstar with Kim one summer. TVG Clerks: It was Godspell and yes I still do theatre. TVG Clerks: I enjoy it a lot. TVG Clerks: I love live audiences. TVG Clerks: There is nothing that compares to having a live audience. Question: What are some of the upcoming episodes about? TVG Clerks: Tonight we get locked in a freezer. TVG Clerks: Randel and Dante get locked in a freezer with Jay and Silent Bob TVG Clerks: and they start to reminiece about the things we've done in the past. TVG Clerks: I coach a baseball team like the Bad News Bears. TVG Clerks: And Jeff beats a videogame he gets recruted by the govt. TVG Clerks: Ala Last Starfighter. TVG Clerks: It then turns into The Temple of Doom. TVG Clerks: I haven't seen them. TVG Clerks: Each time, I'm waiting to see them on air. TVG Clerks: I want to see them on air. TVG Clerks: So I have the same reaction in the nation watching. TVG Clerks: So I don't have a build up defense, like it was slow. TVG Clerks: I do that with all the Kevin Smith films, I wait till the premiere or see it on television TVG Clerks: . Question: Did it take a lot of convincing to persuade you to reprise your roles Question: for the cartoon? TVG Clerks: Absolutely not. TVG Clerks: Dante and Randell are some of the most enjoyable twosomes. TVG Clerks: I've seen in a while. TVG Clerks: And I really really want to do more and post on the ABC board that you want to keep the TVG Clerks: show,. TVG Clerks: And for those of you that know ABC execs personally, go knock on their doors and TVG Clerks: demand "I want my Clerks." Question: How did you celebrate the premiere last week? With friends? TVG Clerks: I was fortunate enough to be with Kevin Smith at his house. TVG Clerks: I showed up and he was like "I'm on the phone with a chat." TVG Clerks: That was with Dave Mandel, Kevin's wife, a few other people who did voices. TVG Clerks: We had a nice ice cream cake that said F the Critics, We love Clerks. Question: Are you guys anything like your alter egos in Clerks? TVG Clerks: I'm actually more Randellish. TVG Clerks: I was more the wiseguy on set and Jeff is more of a quiet type. TVG Clerks: I was always trying to get in trouble. TVG Clerks: I do have that side of me in Dante. TVG Clerks: Like "Let's not start any trouble, or make any waves." TVG Clerks: I'm 60% Randell and 40% Dante. Question: Any chance of toys based off the two of you? I've already got my Jay Question: and Bob. TVG Clerks: I hope so. TVG Clerks: I've already fulfilled one of my life longs goals which was to be in a cartoon. TVG Clerks: The second was to be an action figure. TVGLive2: Right now, we have Brian O'Halloran from the animated series, "Clerks: The Cartoon". Question: Are you all recognized on the street for your roles in Clerks? TVG Clerks: Yes. As a matter of fact today I was recognized and I was in a costume like a headpiece TVG Clerks: mask. TVG Clerks: You can ask one of my fellow actors. Someone asked him if that was Brian O'Halloran TVG Clerks: in Clerks. TVG Clerks: He said yes. TVG Clerks: And told me I was good. TVG Clerks: I'm goateeless. TVG Clerks: I grow or shave it depending on the role. Question: What are some of your favorite films? TVG Clerks: Star Wars Trilogy, less on the Jedi, more on the first two. TVG Clerks: I like old B &W. TVG Clerks: I like Cagney and Bogart. TVG Clerks: I love gangster stuff, scifi. TVG Clerks: When I get that question, I draw a blank cause there are so many good ones. TVG Clerks: Akira Kurisawa, John Woo, Scorcese stuff. Question: Did you always want to go into acting? TVG Clerks: I was always a showoff as a little kid, but up to when I was 15 I wanted to be an TVG Clerks: automotive engineer which is what my father was. TVG Clerks: When I was 15 he passed away. TVG Clerks: I started role playing with friends it that honed a character performance ability. TVG Clerks: I'd watch movies and bitch about how bad an actor was. TVG Clerks: I went to college for a year, TVG Clerks: My friend was like enough of your bitching I'm going to find you an audition. TVG Clerks: I started to get good reviews in the paper for doing stage plays. TVG Clerks: I was hooked ever since. Question: When you madeClerks did you have any idea it would become so popular? TVG Clerks: No. When making it, first of all it was pretty much everybody's first effort into film. TVG Clerks: Second it was black and white. TVG Clerks: And thirdly the subject matter was not the norm for mainstream film. TVG Clerks: At the most I personally thought it would maybe go art house, emphasis on the maybe. TVG Clerks: Kevin was showing it as a calling card to producers. TVG Clerks: We definitely got lucky., TVG Clerks: On Sunday at 11 AM at the IMMF there was one gentleman, named Bob Hawk, TVG Clerks: who was part of the Sundance comittee and he liked it. TVGLive2: Right now, we have Brian O'Halloran from the animated series, "Clerks: The Cartoon". Question: What are some of your favorite stage roles? TVG Clerks: I like Tom in The Glass Menagerie. TVG Clerks: I like Reinfeld in Dracula. TVG Clerks: I like it so much I've done it three times. TVG Clerks: Reinfeld the lunatic. TVG Clerks: Norman in The Dresser. Question: Has Kevin contacted you all about appearing in his next film? TVG Clerks: He's being very hush hush about his next project. TVG Clerks: It was orginally planned to have Clerks 2 the sequel be next. TVG Clerks: But I believe he has nixed that idea. TVG Clerks: He is now working on a different film that encompasses his New Jersey View Askew TVG Clerks: characters. TVG Clerks: There is serious talk of turning the animated cartoon into a full length feature film. TVG Clerks: That he has told me. TVG Clerks: No. Chris Bailey if your out there man, you did a tremendous job. TVG Clerks: I'm very happy with what I look like. TVG Clerks: Once he showed my the first sketches I was like that its. TVG Clerks: The guy got it spot on, first try. Question: Where are you performing right now? TVG Clerks: I'm performing in New Jersey. TVG Clerks: I'm doing a stage play. TVG Clerks: I love acting no matter what it is. Question: What are you all working on next? TVG Clerks: I'm looking at 3 scripts that a friend has handed me. TVG Clerks: Otherwise, right now there is nothing that I have a letter of intent set to. TVG Clerks: I held the months of June and July off.
