- “An Evening With Kevin Smith” is currently the TOP RATED DVD on the DVD Easter Eggs website!
- Attention all UK’ers: A new digital channel “FTN” (which apparently stands for ‘Full On Entertainment’) launched recently and broadcasts the previous night’s edition of ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’, weekdays at 9:00pm. So, instead of waiting for the small little MPEGs we post online, now you can watch Kevin’s Roadside Attractions spots on your very own telelvision. Here’s the URL for theirsite, which includes a link explaining which digital services it is on and the corresponding channel numbers.
- Looks like 411 Mania also got caught up in the April Fool’s Day spirit yesterday, with this fake, but amusing story:
RED BANK – Police in Red Bank, New Jersey were able to prevent tragedy yesterday, as a belligerent fanboy was removed from the stately manor of comic writer and film director Kevin Smith, after a five hour stand-off.
The fanboy was identified as 23 year-old Damon Swindall of Lewisville, Texas. Swindall, a technical support rep and part-time exotic dancer apparently journeyed over 2000 miles in order to force Smith, at gunpoint, to finish writing the final issues of the “Daredevil: The Target” mini-series, which was three months late at last count.
“I just couldnt take it anymore,” Swindall said in a statement through his lawyer. “The first Daredevil book took forever to come out. And then Green Arrow gave me some hope he could stick to a schedule, even though he missed a few issues, but they were all so good and worth waiting for! But then Spider-Man/Black Cat wound up six months lat! e and then I dont know. I had to do something!”
Swindall is currently being held on charges of breaking and entering, stalking, harassment, assault and failure to stalk an attractive celebrity. He is expected to plead insanity. Despite this, many members of the fandom community have come out in support of Swindall, despite his expressions of sorrow for his actions.
“We need more fans with Damon’s dedication,” said Bruce Elliot, president of Comic Readers Against Belated Stories. “If we had more people like him, we might yet see another Astro City series in our lifetime!”
- An intern from the Carson Daly show (Last Call) interviewed Kevin very briefly on a recent show. It took place when Kevin was in Aspen last month.
- Jason Lee made a quick cameo in one of the Daily Show’s features this week. His line was “I think all celebrities are morons.”
- Yep, they’re at it again — Drawing The Line has again decided to run a Kevin Smith joke/reference in today’s comic. Check it out HERE.
- And finally today, a husband and wife who are View Askew fans have been taking their Jay & Silent Bob figures around the world with them, photographing them in some famous spots. Check them out in a London Pub, at Big Ben, and in an Amsterdam Coffee Shop. They have also been to the Great Wall of China, but alas, no photos of that one. Catch ya later!
