• A show featuring Kevin being interviewed at the west coast Stash will air in LA on KCAL TV this
  Wednesday, March 9th at 6:30 p.m. The program is KCAL’s “9 on the Town.” You can find KCAL broadcasting on channel
  9, or check your cable/satellite provider. We’ll likely soon have a copy of this for you to see online since it’s only
  airing locally in that area.
• Kevin made an appearance on 97.1 FM’s FILM FREAK show on Saturday night. The show is a movie-themed
  program, much different than the stuff he’d been doing for Alice all week. We’re getting in a copy of the show as we
  missed getting word to you on this, so watch News Askew for your chance to listen to the program this week.
• MTV has also picked up the
  story regaring that possible Fletch Won casting. Laker Jim’s Fletch Won site has also of
  course picked up on this and is covering the story.
• And last, but certainly not least, God Herself, Alanis Morissette, will commemorate the 10th anniversary of her debut
  album “Jagged Little Pill” by releasing a newly recorded acoustic version

• Okay, you want news? We got yer news. Kevin’s been dropping some exclusive BIG info on the radio
  this week, so if you’re not tuning in or downloading our archived files, this stuff is gonna blow you away! We’re through
  day one of the program (Wednesday’s show), and here’s a summary of what went down that we think you’d like to know:

• The 3 Degrassi episodes will air on Noggin, stateside, on August 12th ,19th , and 26th.
• VULGARTHON: “Oh, What A Lovely Teaparty” is 4.5 (yes, that’s FOUR AND A HALF) hours long!!! We’re
  not sure if this final version will be what eventually hits on video, but chances are this might be your only chance
  to EVER see this cut. Worth the ticket price alone.
• VULGARTHON: The not so top secret 5th Movie? Kevin’s personally cut, EXTENDED VERSION of Jersey
  Girl! If this is something closer to the test screening we saw a year before the film arrived, we know fans will
  truly enjoy seeing this stuff. Again, worth your ticket price!!!
• Kevin will be receving the Independent Spirit Award from Empire Magazine when he goes to the UK next
  week.

• Kevin revealed a few new things of interest today, surrounding upcoming projects.

Let’s start with the BIG news of the day. Yes, it seems CLERKS 2 will be greenlit any DAY now! This is quite exciting,
as we didn’t expect to hear this officially for quite some time, but it seems Kevin and co. have cut a special deal,
making this THE first (we believe) flick to be funded out of the new Bob/Harvey company (though we’re just guessing
here). Here’s Kevin:

Kevin went on to confirm Clerks 2 WILL go theatrical, though this one looks to be a small, targeted release, which we
really dig the idea of:

In other news today, Kevin confirmed that Columbia/Tristar might release the Evening 2 DVD around the same time Universal releases the “Mallrats X” DVD. Coolness. It’s just nice to see both projects are still on track.

• Kevin’s been around answering some questions lately, and we’ve taken some time to do a sweep and pull out what we think many of you might find interesting. • [On the CLIT inaction figures standing on their own given their tiny feet:] “Each CLIT figure comes with a letter (C, L, I, T) that aid them in standing. Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash and it’s parent company, View Askew Productions, however, highly recommend against standing on any clits yourself… unless you’re asked to, in the heat of the moment.”
• [On the material for the EVENING 2 DVD from Toronto and the upcoming London Q&A:] “When all’s said and done, we’ll actually have almost as much material from these gigs (T.O. and U.K.) as we did from the five colleges (eight hours vs. ten), as we only taped two hours apiece at the colleges, and we’re doing the whole shows at the current gigs.”
• A secret tidbit on his “Green Hornet” script: ” There is a third generation in the flick (well, second, since we can’t reference the first gen, the Lone Ranger).”
• This post reveals that Zach Braff (he of “Scrubs” and “Garden State” fame) is the top choice to play “Fletch” in Kev’s adaptation of Fletch Won now. Not a bad choice at all.

And finally, for those of you attending Vulgarthon next month (yep, just one month away now!), Kevin reveals that no special seating is set aside — Simply first come, first-served. We’ll likely have some more tips for you as the event draws closer (anyone remember the “stand up and move left to fill in empty seats” trick from last time?). So we suggest that when you pick your seats, don’t leave those empty buffer seats around ya. Fill ‘em in. Every seat in the house is a good one: “Oddly enough, even in the Dome, you can sit in the front row and still go home sans neck trouble. The theater’s designed really well, and there’s plenty of space between the screen and the first row.” We look forward to meeting many of you there!

• The Futon Critic is reporting that more castings have been made in the new Jason Lee sitcom pilot, “My Name Is Earl”, and believe it or not, another familiar face has joined the fun:

A capsule review of an early draft of the pilot episode is forthcoming. It’ll be a lot more interesting to re-read the script with these faces now in mind. A sitcom with TWO View Askew vets on board in regular roles? How ’bout that!
