• Here’s a few more interesting tidbits directly from Kevin:

• On the Jersey Girl DVD release: “I’ve heard August 25th, but don’t quote me on that. Could be Sept/Oct too.

  Being that Miramax is rushing it, we didn’t have time to re-assemble the longer cut and clear the music rights for the cut material. So there will be two “Jersey Girl” releases. The first release is the theatrical cut, with extras that include one or two commentary tracks (we’re not sure yet), some behind-the-scenes shorts (which you probably saw on Starz or Bravo), and five “Roadside Attractions” (yeah, I know – what does “Roadside Attractions” have to do with “Jersey Girl”? I don’t know; ask Harvey).

  The next release (probably a year or so down the road) will be the first cut of the movie, with more Ollie/Gertrude background and whatnot, as well as all the music that we cut out or replaced. Don’t know what kind of extras will be on it just yet, but we’ll try to pack it, as per usual. “

• The special figure likely to appear at cons this year from the Dogma set? A variation of the Golgothan. Sadly, the proposed God and
  Metatron figs won’t be ready in time.
• We’re likely to see t-shirts featuring that pretty new View Askew logo soon.
• If Kevin made a ton of money on Green Hornet, he’d love to try and persuade Miramax into letting him use Jason Lee as Fletch.

• A Clerks re-enactment makes it into the latest edition of “Good Scenes Gone Bad” at the silly, but fun Liquid Generation site, full of some of the goofiest Flash and Shockwave games on the web.
• According to popular film site Dark Horizons, Harvey Weinstein has stated that Fletch Won is on the slate for next year and that Kevin remains attached to direct.

• And on a final note today: Send your good thoughts over to a member of the extended View Askew family, Soul Asylum’s Karl Mueller, who is undergoing treatment for throat cancer. The band’s been a friend of View Askew since the Clerks days, and we wish him well.

• Due to some strange technical difficulties, our TalkBack system went south last night…However, we’ve got all the data backed up so there shouldn’t be a problem having it all restored again this weekend. We’re taking advantage of the downtime to actually perform some upgrades and bug fixes to the system as well, hence the extra downtime. So, that’s why anyone attempting to post or read the talkbacks is seeing an error message. We’ll let you know when they’re back and runnin’.

And one last thing: Even if you’re not a hockey fan, will some good fortune towards the Philadelphia Flyers tomorrow night, who played an amazing game last night to score an overtime win against Tampa Bay, forcing a game 7 for a spot in the finals! GO FLYERS!

Sadly, the author doesn’t mention that Kevin did also write a Superman script, as we all know, quite a few years ago, before the big Superhero film renaissance began.

• Yes, it’s finally happened, another View Askew film has been sanitized to the point of making its way to BASIC CABLE! Actually, this
  is going to be really interesting, as we recall that on set, special alternate takes of the film were shot JUST for this purpose! That’s right, in July,
  Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back will hit basic cable, which means ALL that profanity’s gotta go. We’re sure some of it will be dubbed (though hopefully not so
  poorly as the fun, but painful TV Mallrats edit), however, the big news is that we will LIKELY see, for the first time, scenes or dialogue that has yet to
  see the light of day as none of this was on the DVD. So, this one’s a definite keeper.

So far, the schedule has “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” premiering on 7/5 at 7-9:30 PM EST as a part of their July 4th movie stunt. It
will also repeat that evening at 11:30pm, then again on 7/11 at 1am and at 8pm. “Dogma” will also be appearing on 7/4 at 7:30pm and at 4:30pm on 7/5
directly before J&SBSB. Tune in, even if it’s just to point us out to your friends in our quick, early film cameos, as our friends and families always
enjoy doing.

• Kevin’s lovin’ that new View Askew web board and stopping by with some marathon Q&A sessions for fans to take part in. Today, he dropped in
  again to answer some more queries. Here’s the rundown of the stuff we thought you folks might find interesting:

• Jay will be involved (we assume, in an acting capacity) with the new, mysterious “small project”.
• Kevin expects the WEST COAST STASH to open early in July.
• The live action, rarely seen Clerks TV show (which we toyed with you about back in our April Fools joke this year) might actually become
  part of the Clerks 10th anniversary jam-packed THREE-DVD set. Yes, THREE. You read that right. Wow.
• The press (and we) misspoke the other day calling Green Hornet a “delay”. There’s no delay, as the rollout of the film was never official,
  nor was it ever going to the the official next project. The film is moving along nicely, and preproduction will continue as Kevin works through his new
  script.
• Southland Tales: Kevin’s part won’t involve any signing, and he LOVES the script. He says it’s not really a musical, there’s songs in it,
  but he wouldn’t call the film a musical at all. Seems really excited about the project, though.
• There has been talk of Kevin writing a Green Hornet comic-based miniseries to tie in with the film.
• The Chasing Amy inaction figure line is still planned, but will come in AFTER the J&SBSB line (which comes after the Dogma line). Follow
  us?

• Mike Oeming will be at Wizardworld Philly this weekend and is always happy to sign your Jay & Silent Bob comics, so be sure and bring ‘em
  with ya! And of course, stop by the Graphitti/View Askew booth where ALL our great Stash swag will be available for immediate purchase, including plenty
  of stuff signed by Kevin himself.
• We’ve gotten away from posting eBay auctions as there were just too many, of them, but this one’s for charity, and we love to see
  charities get support. There’s a Ramones shirt signed by Affleck up for grabs
  right now, with all proceeds going towards fighting Lymphoma (of which the late great Joey Ramone passed away from). The shirt’s only $40.00 right now, a
  real bargain, and it’s for a great cause. Get some bids up there.
• A few Askew shout-outs from the rap community this week: Jean Grae, one of the best MCs (female or otherwise) rocking the mic these days ended a tour
  journal entry with Snoochie Boochies recently. MF DOOM (yes, both of them are Marvel fans)
  references the Bob in the song Saliva off the Viktor Vaughn, Vaudeville Villain album with the line “a lot of crews like to act like a violent mob/they
  really need to just shut the fuck up, like Silent Bob.” Jean’s Bootleg of the Bootleg EP is available for only six dollars or so, and DOOM’s Madvillain
  album just dropped last week.

• Those of you who (like us) have been eagerly dusting off shelf space to add the latest View Askew inaction figure line to your collection,
  we’re happy to report that the wait won’t be much longer! We’ve been informed by the Stash that they expect to start taking preorders for beautiful new
