Easter Eggs :

  • To access these easter eggs, first watch the movie all the way through once (or just access the last chapter and watch the end credits), then go to the “special thanks” screen. On the second special thanks screen, you are now able to highlight a few of the names in the special thanks. Highlight “The Pizza Guy” and you will be taken to a hidden menu called “Loopholes” where you can access the trailer for the hysterical movie “Big Helium Dog” and a second audio commentary for A Better Place, this time with the members of the pervious commentary drunk out of their gords…fun stuff.
  • Click on the color bars. Let them play for about 15-20 seconds and you will view a hidden montage of outtakes and deleted scenes.

  • There is a section on the DVD which contains color bars (color bars entry on the menu) to allow for adjusting your television set. However, when you view these color bars, you will see a small “introduction” to these color bars by Smith, Affleck, Mewes and Mosier.

  • On the main menu, let the dog walk by 3 times, the fourth time he walks by he will stop and smile while going to the bathroom at the foot of Silent Bob.

Easter Eggs :

  • On both disks there are easter eggs. Right when the main menu appears (on both disks) the easter egg is in the corner near the View Askew logo (a clown). On the Movie disk an option will be “Play Movie”. Press Left and another caption will pop up next to it reading “Don’t Play Movie”, press that and it will lead you to a screen which will hold some advice (there are four different “advices” on this easter egg, so after one is over and it returns to the main menu, repeat pressing it if you wish to see the other blurbs).
  • On the second disc there is a Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash spot featuring Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes (once again near the View Askew clown logo).
  • And on both disks, it works on any feature (I believe) the shit demon appears laughing and then faints, but if you press that or another feature again right after that, it opens back up the shit demon screen and the demon says an well-known phrase from all Kevin Smith films.
  • For disk 1 go to the last page of the Scene Selections menu and enter 3 on your remote. You will no longer be able to select any of the menu items. Then press 3 again, hey-presto How Jay thinks Kevin directs.
  • For disc 2 pretty much the same. Go to the last page of the deleted scenes menu and press 2 then 4. How Kevin thinks he directs.
  • On the 1st disk, let the main menu run for about 30 seconds and the menu will “stop” and the “Church Lady” at the bottom right corner will say something.
  • On the main menu of the first disc, enter ’37’ into your remote.

Easter Eggs :

  • Four hidden clips of Kevin Smith/Malcolm Ingram.

    • The key to getting these is the short animation of Bigfoot running across the screen whenever you click on Special Features or Chapter Selection on the main menu screen…
    • Clip #1 – Can be found by clicking on Special Features and then when the Bigfoot animation plays hit your Chapter Forward button. This clip will also play if you click on Chapter Selection and hitting your Chapter Back button during the animation.
    • Clip #2 – Can be found by clicking on Special Features and then when the Bigfoot animation plays hit your Chapter Back button.
    • Clip #3 – Can be found by clicking on Chapter Selection and then when the Bigfoot animation plays hit your Chapter Forward button.
    • Clip #4 – The easiest way to get this last clip is to make your way to Clip #2 and then whilst that is playing hit your Chapter Back button again. Alternatively if you watch the Deleted Scenes and hit Chapter Forward right at the end you will also be taken to this clip.

      • Title 7 is Kevin and Scott Mosier
      • Title 9 is Malcolm and Kevin
      • Title 10 is Kevin and Malcolm
      • Title 12 is Kevin
      • Title 14 is Kevin and Malcolm

Disc One

  • From the Scene Selection menu, press up under the third chapter titled “Look Alikes”. Kevin’s glasses will highlight. Select.
  • Highlight “subtitles” in the Main Menu and press right on your remote, the flower will highlight. Select.
  • Go to Subtitles…go up to English….hit left twice and it will highlight the 3 O’s.
  • On the second scene selection menu, press down twice and the eraser on the board will highlight for an easter egg.

Disc Two

  • From the Trailers menu, open and highlight “Spiderman”, press right and e=mc2 will light up. Select.
  • From the Main Screen, highlight “Play Movie” and press up. The smiley face will highlight. Select.
  • Go to Subtitles…go to English…hit right twice and it will highlight a Heart.
  • On the first scene selection menu, press down twice and Kevin’s shoe highlights for another easter egg.

Easter Eggs :

  • Put disc two in, go to the first page of James L. Venable’s filmography, you’ll notice his birthdate is May 19th, 1967 – if you enter 19 on your remote control (you may or may not need to press enter after entering the 1 and the 9 depending on your player) you’ll get to see a short clip of a Jim’s son and his keyboard.
  • On disc 2, go to Cast and Crew Filmographies. Go to Jay Mewes. Press up (once or twice, it depends). That should highlight a hidden word. Press Play.
  • On the Bonus Materials Disc there is a TV Spots section which contains six TV commercials for the movie… two of which have new Jay & Silent Bob footage where they are pimping the movie. However there is a third Jay & Bob pimping commercial that doesn’t seem to be accessible from the menu system – you need to directly access Title #65 via your remote control to get it. The commercial is exactly the same as the fifth TV commercial “SMOOTH YO” except for an extra scene at the end where Jay sings a censored version of his famous chant, “Smoking BLEEP, doing BLEEP, drinking BLEEP”, Silent Bob looks at him questioningly, and Jay replies “I’m censoring myself. We’re on TV” to which Silent Bob nods.

Easter Eggs :

  • Go to the discs “Special Features” menu and select the “Deleted Scenes”. Then, press the right arrow key to highlight the robot’s eyes. If you press “Enter” now, director Kevin Smith and another View Askew staff member will remind you to stop looking for Easter Eggs on DVD’s.

Easter Eggs :

  • Start on SIDE A (Theatrical Version), go to Scene Selection, Highlight Scene #6, Press the ‘DOWN’ arrow once, click to see another one of Kevin and Jay’s funny ads for The Stash with special guest Jason Lee!
