Another Supes Update…

August 21st @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • Ok, if you think I’m talking too much about this, just tell me, but now I hear that Nicolas Cage has completely agreed to wearing THREE different costumes throughout the movie to help with toy merchandising, as well as driving some sort of “SuperCar”, which also will be of course created into ANOTHER toy. It really sucks seeing such a great script getting turned into this, especially after waiting so many years for another GOOD Superman movie. Alright, I’m done.

Chris Likes The Dogma Script!

  • A guy named Vinny mailed us and let us know that he did a makeup job on Chris Rock for a Rolling Stone layout and had the chance to ask him a quick question about Dogma. He said that he was a “very cool guy, was very high on the script for Dogma, and seems like a fun person to work with.” Just thought you folks might like to know.

View Askew & Miramax: It’s All Good!

August 21st @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • We received a scoop today from Devin Clancy, whose deft eyes caught this blurb about Kevin, Scott, and Miramax in the back of a magazine called Creative Scriptwriting’s Fall ‘97 issue:
MIRAMAX NOT CHASING KEVIN

Writer-director Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy) and producing partner Scott Mosier have extended their deal with Miramax Films through the end of the century. Smith will not only write and direct his own projects, but will develop material with other filmmakers. Their banner is View Askew. The deal was handled by Endeavor agency and NY attourney John Sloss.”

Sounds like a good deal to us. Hopefully View Askew and Miramax’s relationship will continue in this fashion well into the next century, also.

The Big Helium Dog

  • Vincent Pereira tells us that Big Helium Dog production began yesterday, and went VERY well for the first day of shooting! He and director Brian Lynch managed to knock out 7 tough indoor location scenes yesterday, and rumor has it that the crew was having quite a bit of trouble stifling their laughter. Sounds really promising. Congrats, guys! If anyone from the crew would like to give us some updates from the set from time to time, we’d love to hear what’s going on. We also plan on making a set visit ourselves sometime in the future if everyone’s schedule permits. Stick with us for all the latest Big Helium Dog info!

  • Sad how this is today’s big news, isn’t it? Anyway, ViewAskew.Com is back online, at least from what I see as of 7:00. Happy surfing!

Dogma Database Update…

  • Thanks to Jay Gunn for letting us know that Dogma’s Internet Movie Database Enty has been updated to include all of the latest casting information, and that the aforementioned “shit demon” played by Ethan Supplee will be (Kev’s words) “a shit version of Clayface”. Sounds good to us! Speical Effects in a View Askew flick, huh? Sounds cool.
