Dancing Silent Bob Cursor!
- Our resident graphics guru, Steve Rettinger, has really outdone himself this time. We are now proud to present the Dancing Silent Bob Mouse Cursor for Windows! This is a real beauty folks, and a must download. The cursor’s so small it’s not worth posting a pic, but we’ve taken it and added it to a zip file along with the dancing jay (see below) as well. You can get the file, containing both cursors, right here. It’ll take seconds to download at any speed. Steve also hopes to do some cleanup work on the dancing Jay cursor to make it appear as clean and sharp as the Bob. Steve, you’re good.
Dogma On Dark Horizons…
- The guy who runs the Dark Horizons website (which contains the latest film rumors) made this entry:
Dogma: A fellow web-buddy of mine that goes by the name of Justin McGill has managed to make contact with an extra on the set of the film “Vulgar”, and has confirmed that ‘Mallrats’ star Ethan Suplee will play the role of a ‘Shit Demon’ (possibly based on the life of Newt Gingrich or Pauline Hanson. OOOOHH! I just go too far!).
This And That…

- We hope to have some Big Helium Dog information for you VERY soon, in lieu of the website’s disappearance. I’m in the process of trying to set up a chat with the director, Brian Lynch. Sounds like everything’s fine with the flick. Check back with us for all the dirt, coming soon!
New Dogma Rumors Webpage…
- Alright, so it’s a little competition for us, but we’ve always been big fans of Corona’s Movie Rumors WebPage, and they’ve just added a new section on Dogma. Most of their info looks to be coming from here or the View Askew WWWBoard (Including some really big spoilers that we decided not to read or post, so be warned!). Anyway, expect some of the more juicy and revealing Dogma updates on their page, so if you’re interested, it’s worth a look now and then for sure.
More On Pix Posters…
- Smalls wrote to let us know that he had the chance to visit a smaller outlet of Pix Posters at Syracuse University. Apparently they have some satellite shops here and there. So if any of you know where any of their locations are or have visited any, let us know what you find! You might be surprised…
Problems Askew…
- As we write this update, www.viewaskew.com is down once again. We’re not sure if it’s a net problem or if they’re in the process of doing those major website upgrades we’ve been hearing about. More details here on this site (Which WILL be online!) as soon as we know, as always.
B.H.D. = M.I.A.
- What the hell is going on with Big Helium Dog? Unfortunately, we haven’t a clue. The BHD Website has disappeared, and our friend and favorite web artist Steve Rettinger noticed that Fringe Askew has also disappeared. Steve speculated that it might be vengeance from Larry King for Ralph’s on-air BHD prank, but frankly, we hope it’s something more minor than that. I talked with Keith Miller, the BHD webmaster, for a brief second last night, but he was so busy I didn’t even get a chance to ask about what’s going on with the site or the flick. We had hoped to bring you periodic set updates, but we’ve kinda lost contact here. Hope all is well and the movie has been continuing filming as planned. Drop us a line if anyone (Especially you, Vinnie, Keith, and Brian!) has any info.
John Pierson Cinemania Tour!
- Saw this post from Jason Charnick on the WWWBoard and thought we’d share the info with you, since Pierson’s had some good relations with Kev and View Askew in the past:
John Pierson is the final tour update for the 1997 CD-ROM. His tour of American Independent Cinema is about five minutes long and it very, very interesting as well as educational. Most of the tour centers around Jim Jarmusch and Spike Lee, but he does make note of Clerks and his executive producer credit on Chasing Amy. If you have the disc, download it today!
I do have the disc, and I will. By the way, if you weren’t aware, John is scheduled to appear on the Chasing Amy laserdisc commentary (He served as the film’s executive producer).
Thanks To Our Scoopers!
- Practically all of today’s news comes from scoops we received via e-mail, so thanks so much to all of you who chipped in today. Not only do you make our jobs easier, but you also allow us to get the news out to the masses much faster than digging for it ourselves. Kudos to you all. Here we go…
