Kevin Speaks…

October 22nd @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • Finally today, a nice little post from the man himself on the WWWBoard that should interest you:
I leave in the A.M. for twelve hours in L.A.

Yuck.

But it’s going to be quick at least. I have a meeting with Brian Grazer about ‘Fletch’, and then I’m going to pop over to the ‘Armagaedon’ set to see Ben duck comets or something. Then dinner with my uber-agent Phil, and back on a plane by ten at night.

If one has to go to LA, it’s the only way to do it.

I’ll be gone tomorrow, so anyone wanting to post something I’ll see might want to wait until Thursday.

I guess we’re all into this ‘tween Holidays Film Fest thing, hunhh? Good.

Sounds like Fletch AND the holiday screenings are a go! We’re psyched. See ya next time. Thanks for stopping by.

A Better Place Comes To NYC Tomorrow!

  • Alas, we’re going to miss this, but it doesn’t mean you can’t go and give us a full report! Neil Juan Luis Pedro Philipo de Huevos tells us that plenty of tickets are still available for the scerening, which takes place at the Walter Reade Theatre. It hold 268 people, and there’s 200 left (most of which will be sold tomorrow, we’re sure). If you want to reserve tickets, call movie phone (777-FILM). If you want to reach the box office, their number is (212) 875-5601 after 2:00pm. Don’t miss your chance to catch this flick before all your friends AND support an up-and-coming director who’ll surely be able to buy and sell us someday! Right, Vinnie?

Kevin Vs. Rutgers II

October 22nd @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • Thanks to our pal Melissa and board regular HolyToads for letting us know that Kevin will be appearing at Rutgers NEW BRUNSWICK CAMPUS (Cook Campus Center) this Friday at 7 PM, doing the Chasing Amy screening and Q&A thing like he did at the Camden campus around a month ago (Read all about it here or in our wonderful Trips section on the left). If you missed the last one, DO NOT MISS THIS ONE! A fine time will certainly be had by all.

Here’s some additional info direct from Kim on the appearance:

I was informed by the student power’s that be that only those with RU ID will be admitted, should they have a larger-than-capacity turn out. Just as an example, they turned away about 30 people from the Rutger’s Camden campus, and that venue held approx. 750 people, this in cook college holds only 350 max.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

See you Friday!

WE’RE MOVING AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!

October 22nd @ 12:00 am | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • We’ve mentioned it the past and asked for help as a precautionary measure, but now, it’s really happening. Within the next month, this page WILL move to a new server, with a new address.

The reason for this is because we’re moving our internet account to a new provider, on an ultra fast cable modem no less! Why is this bad? Well, the new provider doesn’t give us enough web space to hold our page, unless we’re willing to pay an extra 5 dollars a month per meg! This is outrageous and we refuse to pay.

Therefore, WE NEED A NEW HOME! And we MEAN it this time! Sorry to put you all on the line like this, but it’s time for you to come through! Here’s what we’ll need:

  • A fast, reliable server that will be online and available for many years to come.
  • Approximately 4 megs of disk space to start, with that number growing at the rate of 300k or so (give or take) monthly, due to the news archives.
  • Access to the webpage at all times, through either telnet, FTP, or both, in order to let us update the page in realtime, at any time we need, to get the breaking news online right away. This is VERY IMPORTANT and the reason we couldn’t accept a lot of our previous invitations!

Well, that’s pretty much it. Not a problem, huh? We know it’s a tall order, but we think SOMEONE out there can come through for us. The site gets around 200 hits per day now, which is pretty low traffic as far as websites go, so it shouldn’t hurt your bandwidth. If you need us to link back to you somehow in an advertisement, we can certainly work something out, although we’d prefer not to plaster ads all over the site and ruin its look.

And finally, yes, we are aware of Geocities and the other “free” web space providers. We hate them and refuse to put News Askew there. Not only are they slow, but they limit your disk space and they make you puts ads all over the place. And they’re slow.

PLEASE HELP US! We’ll be your best friend. E-Mail us HERE to apply!
