- After chatting with Brian O’Halloran quite a bit at Kev’s a few weeks back, we learned that he’d be appearing in a play this month. Sounds like a good one, too. Here’s Brian with all the details!
On July 21 – 30 I’ll be performing in Brian Friel’s “Translationsâ€, a play set in a small Irish village in 1833 – the British army is preparing an ordnances survey map of Ireland, substituting English for the old Gaelic place names. Ireland is, in effect, being translated. Against a political background is said a doomed love story of a young English officer and an Irish farm girl, each knowing nothing of the other’s language. It’s at the Lauren K. Woods Theater on the Monmouth University Campus (Number 16 on the university map) Here’s the Directions to Monmouth University. The Box Office phone number is (732) 263-5730. Shows are on Thur. 20, 21, 22, 23, then Wed. 26, 27, 28, 29, 30. The curtain is at 8 PM and Sundays at 7 PM.
Be sure and get out to catch one of Brian’s performances, he always puts on a great show. Support live theater, too!
