Commentary

  • Well, even with taking the day off yesterday, there’s still not a lot to cover today, but we’ve got a few things worth mentioning, for sure. Hopefully you all caught Exposure on Wednesday, complete with Kevin’s great hosting job. If not, we’ve got details on how to catch a rerun, as well as your area for talkbacks on the program below. Those of you who watched Survivor will be happy to know that Sci-Fi will give you a few more chances to see Exposure before it never airs again. By the way, how about that Sue on Survivor huh? What a horrible person she is. While Rich may not have been everyone’s most popular choice, at least SHE didn’t get the money. Thank goodness for that.

Things have been very quiet around here lately. It’s always nice to get a break, though, especially with the various duties and commitments that summertime brings. Still, we anticipate some excitement around here soon. If Vulgarthon 2000 is happening around Halloween as we’d heard earlier, there should be a big announcement along those lines very soon. Then, starting December, things are gonna go nuts around here when View Askew 5 production starts, along with 2 BIG DVD releases. Until then, we’ll be here, and we’re sure that there’s gonna be some unexpected surprises to keep things interesting.

Exposure – Last Chance To Catch It On Sci-Fi…EVER!

  • Alright, alright, we hope you listened to us but we KNOW that some of you still tuned into Survivor on Wednesday night instead of Exposure. That’s OK, we forgive you. THIS time. But seriously, SciFi’s been kind enough to keep the show on the schedule a few more times before it never airs again (that’s right, our press release says this show will not be rerun on the channel, at least, that’s the plan). In other words, tune into one of these airings if you’ve yet to watch:
Friday, August 25      — 7:00 PM EST
Saturday, August 26 — 11:00 AM EST
Sunday, August 27    — 11:30 PM EST

Feel free to post your Exposure comments on the show, the clips, and Kev’s hosting duties right here!

Wizard Plugs Upcoming “Clerks TCS” DVD…

  • First of all, we’re sorry for everyone who DID scoop this and didn’t get credit. We hedged on posting this item because we were unsure about the date it gives for the DVD’s release…And we STILL are, but we continue to get so much mail on this small item that Wizard ran on the Clerks cartoon series DVD planned for this winter, so we figured we’d best run it:
‘CLERKS’ GET COLLECTED FOR HOME VIDEO

All six episodes, just in time for Christmas

There’s a little naga-nootch under the tree this year. A little swearing, too.

The full run of Kevin Smith’s “Clerks” cartoon will finally be available for public consumption. Buena Vista Home Video has slated a “Clerks” VHS and DVD collection for December.

The ill-fated “Clerks” was scheduled to run as a mid-season replacement show on ABC in early 2000. When the show was pushed back to a May release, a much-publicized feud over scheduling broke out between Smith and the network. Only two “Clerks” episodes aired before the show was canceled.

The VHS and DVD collections will feature all six episodes that were made, along with Smith and Jason Mewes in all-new intros, playing “Clerks” characters Jay and Silent Bob. Smith and “Clerks” stars Brian O’Halloran (Dante) and Jeff Anderson (Randal) are also doing commentary tracks for DVD. Behind-the-scenes stuff, including developmental artwork and aborted scenes, will also be shown.

“This is why I got into TV in the first place-so I could get another DVD into the marketplace,” Smith said, a little on the sarcastic side. “Like all the other View Askew DVD efforts, we’re going to pack this one as well, so there’ll be some bang for the buck. And since it’s not airing on TV, Jay and I will curse like longshoremen in our intros. That’s gotta be worth another five bucks, at least.” -Jim McLauchlin
