  • Hey, wassup folks? Hope those of you stateside had a fantastic July 4th holiday weekend! It’s been fantastic here in PA – After a nice break full of parties, outdoor BBQ’s, and tons of fun, it’s back to the reality of it all this week. What a great break though. This weekend, Pearl Jam in concert! Summers are SO much better than winters. That’s for sure. Anyway, looking at the slate of happenings in this neck of the woods, we’ve got a few little tidbits of interest for ya today, though probably not the news onslaught you may have expected — Even Hollywood takes a break for Independence Day. Don’t forget, our Squitgun “Fade to Bright” Contest is going on through the end of this month. Still plenty of time to enter if you haven’t already done so. We’ve got a TON of entries so far, 10 random winners will be chosen in August.

You may have noticed the poll got an update at the end of last week as well with an interesting little question – Be sure to vote, and thanks to DerekD for the suggestion. So, you’ve been waiting for this, let’s get this update going today…

  • Kevin makes his return to column-writing for what we believe is just a one-shot article as part of Arena’s special “Sex & Superheros” issue. The article, entitled “Superheros Forever” appears in the August 2003 issue of the UK magazine. You can also click the scans above to read the entire article if you can’t get to a copy. Enjoy.

  • A group called “All Girl Summer Fun Band” have written and perform a song entitled “Jason Lee” all about…you guessed it…Jason Lee. The track is on their album but also available for free download at their website. Read the lyrics HERE. It’s an strangely catchy tune. Listen for yourself and you too may find yourself going “Dum dum dum dum…dum-da-dum”.
  • According to Universal, a Mallrats special edition DVD will be released in the Netherlands this November. No details on specs yet, but chances are it’ll be similar or same to the currently available R1 version of the disc.
