  • Here’s the latest on the sold-out Clerks reunion/screening at the Arclight next week. It’s sounding better all the time, dare we say some of you might have even wanted to buy plane tix to make it to this one! Anyway, here’s the added info, hope you got tix if you wanted them!
‘CLERKS’ 10TH ANNIVERSARY REUNION SCREENING AND Q&A UPDATE!!!

To those lucky enough to be going to the ‘Clerks’ 10th Anniversary Reuion Screening at the ARCLIGHT in Los Angeles – we have updated details for you:

* Confirmed Guests: Kevin Smith 6 other cast and crew members. Who are they? We’re leaving it a surprise.

* Most of these cast and crew members have not been together in 10 years. This will truly be a reunion.

* A word about the Q&A after the screening: This will be recorded and included on the upcoming ‘Clerks’ 10th Anniversary DVD. Since time is going to be limited, we’d like to keep the focus of the questions on ‘Clerks’ and the experiences of the cast and crew members. If you’ll be participating in the Q&A session, please try to keep the question focus on ‘Clerks.’ Many thanks.

* Sadly, the screening is SOLD OUT (you have to move faster than that!) If you do need or happen to have an extra ticket, please let people know on the board. Thanks.

There’s a new area over in the News Askew Forums reserved for ticket holders to this event. Feel free to stop there to discuss your plans, and make connections to meet up with other fans at the event! Please remember though, the area is only to be used for discussion of the Arclight Clerks show.

  • It’s sad to see such a great series wrapping up, but one of Anotony’s last Jersey Gilm columns is now available at the ‘Shoot. This one as an interview with Kevin , and features some never before seen behind the scenes photos, including that infamous wedding scene! Lots of info from Kevin on stuff cut from the film as well, which will hopefully be back on DVD. Another must-read.
  • Lots of mail came in on this one today. “Jersey Girl” was today’s IMDB Quote of the Day, a rare feat for such a new release:
“OLLIE: ‘You’re the only thing I was ever good at.’ “

SOUTHLAND TALES also has a page at the IMDB now, though last we heard, nothing on this flick was official yet.

  • We’re also getting a lot of mail on this, and weren’t even gonna run it, but it seems a lot of fans think that Easter Bunny beatings (which sadly seem to occur annually now) are Askew news due to Jay & Bob’s Mallrats actions…At any rate, Yahoo had the story. Sounds a little like relgion out of control.
  • According to the official BBFC website, Jersey Girl has been awarded a 12A rating in the UK. This means that anyone over 12 can see the film without supervision. Anyone under 12 can still see it, but with an adult. No changes or cuts have been made from the US version.

  • And in more international JG news: Fans in Korea were thrilled to write and tell us that the film opened there today, as the last 2 View Askew films didn’t make it to the big screen there. The film also opens in Israel today, where apparently Liv Tyler is a big draw. The Israel E! Online site has art to prove it, notice how prevalent she is on the poster art.
  • Eliza Dushku will be appearing next weekend in the UK at the Memorabilia show. We imagine she’ll be doing the meet & greet and signing thing, same as at Wizard World East here next month. She’ll likely be promoting her series, Tru Calling. But we’re sure she’ll be happy to meet J&SBSB fans, too.

  • It’s cool to see that Kevin’s such a regular on The Tonight Show now that Leno makes jokes at his expense during the program, when Kev’s not even there. This one was a comparsion photo between Kev and a Shiite cleric (adding in the turban, of course).
  • Beverly Cinemas in Champaign, Illinois will be showing Clerks as part of their Rerun Film Series tomorrow, April 10, at 11:00PM. Tickets are only $3.00.
  • And finally today, an aside for the curious Jersey Girl fans out there: Warner Home Video is releasing the original Broadway production of SWEENEY TODD, starring Angela Lansbury and George Hearn, on DVD April 20tg. JG fans who are just discovering this amazing musical may want to check out the whole thing and not just the “God, That’s Good” number. Gotta run, off to see KILL BILL 2 a week early! YES!
