  • We’re treating this only as a BIG rumor and a newsbite, because of the source, but a small gossip newsletter called
Popbitch is claiming that Lucasfilm is developing a Star Wars TV series titled “The Adventures of Luke Skywalker”, with Lawrence Kasdan
and KEVIN SMITH slated to direct episodes. Either they’ve got a big inside scoop, or this is a crazy fan rumor gone awry. Perhaps Kevin can clear this
    one up for us.
  • TV Guide Online reports that Ben Affleck will host the Oct. 2 season premiere of Saturday Night Live:
BEN THERE, DONE THAT: It’s not Bill Clinton, but this’ll do: Ben Affleck has been tapped to host the Oct. 2 season premiere of Saturday Night Live, TV Guide Online has learned. This will mark Affleck’s third stint hosting the show. Nelly will serve as musical guest.

If he keeps this up, they’re gonna hafta run another “5 Timers Club” sketch! Remember that one?

  • We don’t believe we announced this, so in case we didn’t…DVD Answers reveals that Kevin will
appear on a commentary track with director Richard Kelley on the REGION TWO Donnie Darko director’s cut disc. No idea if that’ll make it to region one as
well, though we can only hope so. If not, time to fire up those all region players, folks!
  • IDS News runs a small, compliment-filled blurb on the Clerks X DVD today:
“For diehard Kevin Smith fans, as well as those who enjoy intelligent comedy with a slacker sensibility, “Clerks X” is the only edition of this classic to own.”

  • Good news for Swiss View Askew fans: The XENIX cinema in Zurich (which we hear actually has SOFAS inside for seats) is schedule to screen some of the flicks, as you can see
in the scans here from Swiss paper “Zueritipp”. MALLRATS is being shown for the first time EVER in Switzerland. They’re even showing MAE DAY before MALLRATS
(which tells us that they’re probably projecting off DVD). DOGMA and JASBSB are sscheduled for the following week. See www.xenix.ch for more info.

  • And last, but certainly not least, check out the front page image of Monday’s Tampa Tribune newspaper! Apparently, the owner of that
store is a true Clerks fan! See ya next time…
