• E-mail spamming is at an all-time high these days (the News Askew mailbox here probably collects over 50 spam e-mails per day now), and we’ve recently become aware that companies are scouring websites to pull of e-mail addresses to use for their spamming practices. In fact, those of you who have scooped in the past may be getting some of these messages as a result of your address appearing on this site.

So, in the hopes of stopping or at least cutting down on this practice, from this point forward, News Askew will not (by default) link your e-mail address in the scooped-by line of each story. If you would LIKE your e-mail to be used, please specify this in your scoop mail. Also, if you’d instead like a link to your website with your name, include the URL in your signature line.

As always, News Askew will continue to give full credit to all of our scoopers, but your privacy also is of our concern. Thanks for your scoops and support!
