- Well, that didn’t take long. We’ve both read Kevin’s Superman Lives script, and let me tell ya, this thing is tough to put down!
As you read the script, it’s definitely apparent that this is a completely different tone than ever seen in any of the previous Superman flicks, yet some of the classic lines and concepts still manage to peek through every once in a while. Askew fans will even find some familar character names popping up now and then, but that’s all we’re gonna say about that. Another thing: There really IS some great dialogue here. Don’t get me wrong, the script sure does have some action sequences that would’ve looked spectacular onscreen, but some of the scenes between Supes and Lois, as well as some really good exchanges with the Eradicator (who gets some of the greatest lines, in my opinion) are what really sets this script apart from the hack job that’s most certainly going to be put together for Burton’s flick.
Here’s Kev’s dream cast for the movie, had it been made:
Cage as Supes
Nicholson as Luthor
Fiorentino as Lois
Patrick Stewart as Brainiac
Call us, nostalgic, but we’d have like to have seen Gene Hackman filling Lex’s shoes again, but Nicholson would have been cool. It’d also be interesting to see who Kev would’ve liked to have used for the voices of L-Ron and the Eradicator. Oh, well. Curse you, Warner Brothers.
