Yes, these can be considered spoilers, the first quite minor, if you’ve watched any trailers or ads, the second, a bit less so. Still nothing major of course, plot-wise. We had quite a bit of problems with both Internet Exploer and Mozilla Firefox with the Overdrive page, here’s hoping the bugs are fixed or you folks have better luck when you try.

• Scooper “Amy” has an outstanding summary today, in her words, of what transpired with Kevin’s Atlanta press junket today — Looks like she covered most of what was aired, and quite well at that, so we’ll let her take it away with her report:

Yes, Clerks II does open with a fire. And this latest train wreck covers every technical aspect of how that movie magic happens. The technical wizardry and involvement that goes into a shot like this is always quite interesting for us to see. We hope you’ll enjoy it, too. As always, Zak and Joey cover all aspects of the process perfectly and in detail. Enjoy this latest edition of the epic web series, “Train Wreck”. Exclusively at Clerks2.com.

• Recent scoopers who have had the chance to talk to Brian or Jeff have heard that they’re speculating a 2007 or 2008 release for the direct-to-DVD Clerks animated movie. Sounds about right to us from what Kevin’s been speculating. We still know the film will happen, no matter what, but there remains no official date. We’ll of course track this project as it moves along.
• For more information on the Australian premiere of “My Name Is Earl” tonight, visit their TV website.
• Clerks gets another quick nod in this MTC article on the band “Supernova”, who will search for a new lead singer on TV this summer on reality show “Rock Star”. They did the tune “Chewbacca” on the Clerks soundtrack. Read a bit more and catch another Clerks ref HERE as well.
• AOL news is running a piece entitled, “You Gotta Start Somewhere,” about current stars in music videos before they became famous. Among others, the article features Jason Lee in Sonic Youth’s video “100%.” The article talks a very little bit about Lee’s past as a skateboarder in which capacity he appears in the video. They also offer the video to be watched on-demand.
• Ya gotta love the world of indie filmmaking…It’s what got View Askew to where it is today. The tradition continues, too, with guys like this whose filmmaking blog cites a recent photo and sighting of the famous Dogma church while shooting in Pittsburgh. Check it out, and we’ll see ya next time.

• Just another great reason to visit the growing Quick Stop Entertainment website, “Clerks II Inaction Shorts” have debuted with Episode 1, written by an unnamed but famous writer/director, and starring some voices you may find very, very familiar. Check out episode 1, “You’ll Believe A Clerk Can Fly”, right here. Great stuff, and exclusively from Quick Stop Entertainment. The series will run up until the Clerks II release next month, at least, perhaps further on. A new episode will appear online each week.

• Important FYI: Tomorrow’s Kevin appearance at Criminal Records in Atlanta has been cancelled. No further information is available at this time. Sorry to those of you planning to head down.
• “Snowballing” was apparently discussed on today’s “Bubba The Love Sponge” show. Bubba now appears uncensored on Sirius satellite radio. The pair was debating that particular term versus a “Creampie”.
• The story’s not related, but check out the headline of this E! Online piece. View Askew must have a fan there, huh?

• Here’s a shot of the new poster for Ben Affleck’s George Reeves biopic “Hollywoodland” (formerly known as “Truth, Justice, and the American Way” until the Supes folks got in the way).
• You have to skim through the piece a bit to find it, but this critic has praise for the version of Richard Kelly’s “Southland Tales” http://www.cinema-scope.com/cs27/spot_cannes_peranson_conspiracy.htm that screened in Cannes. The film is going through some re-edits after some tough criticism at the show. Kevin has a small role.
