- Brokeback Mountain: The New Weekly reports that after the huge success of “Good Will Hunting”, it is not surprising that rumours are flying of director Gus Van Sant and stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are teaming up again for “Brokeback Mountain” – one of the next films on Van Sant’s schedule after he finishes remaking “Psycho”. The bound to cause a stir film follows “two coyboys who spend their days fighting Indians, and their nights fighting their passion for each other” (which one’s the butch half?). But if Van Sant wants them for the film, can he get them? Bothstars schedules are pretty much booked solid for some time, but one day soon the duo could be locking lips on screen. Wonder if Winona or Gwyneth will cameo?

Controversial Damon Interview…
![]() “Where’s the whores?” |
Matt Damon, the Hollywood star of “Good Will Hunting” and “School Ties”, blasted young actors as “morons” in a newly unearthed 4-year-old interview that was never published.
“For the most part, young actors in Hollywood are actors by default,” said the actor and Oscar-winning writer, who was then 23. “They were a model last week, and they’re an actor this week. …They’re morons.”
The interview is to be published in the Aug. 4 first issue of Gear magazine. It took place when Damon was a movie wannabe searching for work.
“Those guys were out getting bombed every night,” he said of the stars of “The Three Musketeers,” including Chris O’Donnell. “That’s not gonna help me as an actor, seeing how drunk I can get with (expletive) Charlie Sheen.”
Interviewer Jeff Gremillion, also then 23, was a Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism student working on a class assignment. Seeking a follow-up interview recently, Gremillion’s letter and several phone calls went unanswered.
Agents for Damon, O’Donnell and Sheen did not return phone calls seeking comment made by The Associated Press on Monday.

SOV Begins Filming…
- SOV went great. We shot two days so far (we’re a little more than halfway done with shooting) and everything went cool.
The first day featured Mike Linstroth, Nick Giovannetti, Kevin Crimmins, Keith Miller, JJ North, Bryan Johnson and Vincent Pereira.
For all you Steve-Dave fans, this presents Johnson in a whole new light. He gives a command cameo performance. And as for Vinnie, well, you won’t soon forgot Vinnie in SOV after seeing him. You thought The Cigarette Fairy was Vinnie’s weirdest character. No sir. New heights.
As for everyone else, they made the script ten times funnier than it is. Seriously, they were great in rehearsals, but once the camera rolled they really kicked into high gear.
And the second day…
Brian Quinn reprising his role as Vance. That in itself made my day. Lorene Scafaria back as Chastity. Another great performance. And JJ North making sweet love to Quinn in a sex scene that will disturb and arouse. I ask you, what love scene has incorporated both strobe lights AND Grape Nuts? Lots of Grape Nuts.
Finally, we introduced the title character. That’s a sight to behold.
I can’t wait for people to see BHD and SOV.
News Askew hopes to make the pilgrimmage into Jersey this weekend for live coverage, as SOV wraps shooting in its second and final weekend! More to come.
