No doubt his grandest attempt at filmmaking yet, Dogma is a religious epic that follows abortion activist Linda Fiorentino as she tries to stop a pair of angels (played by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck) from joining a renegade church when God has gone missing. Who else but Smith regulars and self-styled prophets Jay and Silent Bob could help on this journey. The only bad news: Originally scheduled for release this December, the film has been pushed back to fall of 1999 so that it can be entered in next year’s Cannes film festival.”
