Latest Box Office Totals…

  • Jay & Bob climbed up to number two on Thursday, but dropped down to #8 for Friday, with Jeepers Creepers (a big disappointment, by the way) taking top honors. That flick looks to bring in a total of about what Jay & Bob did on the first weekend, so nothing seems to be bringing in that major huge windfall every studio hopes for. By the end of this weekend, look for J&SBSB to have hit around $20 million total, and to settle in around 6th or 7th place for its second week of release. We’ll have the full report for you tomorrow as soon as statistics become official.

Entertainment Weekly Summary…

  • Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back gets a full page review in the current issue of Entertainment Weekly, plus a clip in the Sound Bites section from Kevin’s appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. The flick is scored with a very positive “B” (chalk up yet another good review from a huge critic source) and can be checked out by clicking the scans above. Afroman also gets a mention in the hot sheet, obviously getting a lot of recognition after being on the soundtrack and a highly requested tune on radio this summer. He even was the recent subject of a Wall Street Journal article. Sounds like Jay & Bob might have launched a career!

  • A lot of the J&SBSB cast continue to come up tops in IMDB search rankings. Check out this page for the latest. The flick’s obviously very popular with the internet crowd.
  • Speaking of the IMDB, if you’re interested, they’ve got photos from the opening of Carmen Llywellyn’s new art gallery. Carmen, as you know, is married to Jason Lee and appears in Amy & J&SBSB.
  • Since so many of you are speculating…VideoETA has JAY & SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK listed for a January 2002 video/DVD release. Keep in mind, though, if the DVD they produce is going to be the HUGE special edition, expect it not to street until later in 2002. We’ll keep you posted right here.
  • Stan Hench of the group Toe Jam contacted us recently about a new piece on their Plastic Jesus song (that appears in J&SBSB, but not on the soundtrack). You can read that HERE. The band’s also got a website that you can check out right HERE.
  • If you’re interested in winning some cool free stuff, here’s a contest (from a non-affiliated site) where you can win a DVD player, all of Kev’s flicks on DVD and a copy of the J&SBSB soundtrack. Not a bad deal. Good luck!
  • Last Friday, IGN featured Joey Lauren Adams as their “Babe Of The Day”, with a pic of her singing “Alive” and the words “Who could blame Silent Bob for chasing Joey?”. Check it out HERE.
  • On October 10th, the Mayfair theatre, a 2nd run theatre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, will be airing J&SBSB, with – of all things – American Pie 2 as a double feature. One price gets ya both flicks. Details HERE.
  • In other screening news, the Univerity of Wisconsin Madison will be presenting CLERKS as part of its Midnight Movies series. CLERKS will be shown on October 6th in the Union South at Midnight for FREE. Be there or don’t.
  • A new, fairly unflattering review of A Better Place’s DVD appears online HERE. Check it out if ya like.
