  • Zap2it.com ran this nice little story today on Kevin’s “Flying Car” short, which airs on the Tonight Show TOMORROW NIGHT! As you might know, this short features Dante and Randal having another one of their famous philosophical conversations/arguments. We’ve checked out the script, and it’s hilarious, so we’re sure you’ll dig it. Tune in to Leno tomorrow night or at least set those VCRs! Here’s the story:
Kevin Smith’s Latest Film to Debut on ‘The Tonight Show’ February 19, 2002

HOLLYWOOD (Zap2it.com) – Kevin Smith (”Clerks”) has a new film coming out Feb. 27 and the only way to see it is to tune into “The Tonight Show.”

The six-minute short comedic film, entitled “The Flying Car,” stars Brian O’Halloran and Jeff Anderson, who will be reprising their roles from “Clerks.”

Smith has made two recent appearances on “The Tonight Show” presenting his comedic travelogue pieces entitled “Roadside Attractions with Kevin Smith,” tongue-in-cheek looks at the public oddities that dot the American landscape.

“After my first visit to the Tonight Show, the folks there asked if I’d be willing to do correspondent pieces for them,” said Smith. “In the midst of shooting what became the ongoing segment ‘Roadside Attractions with Kevin Smith,’ they further suggested I make a short film for them to air after the Olympics. Before they could catch wind of what an inept filmmaker I really am, I said yes.”

Late last year, Smith shot another short film for the VH1 and Miramax sponsored “Concert for New York City” entitled “Why I Love New $&*#@! York.” This summer, Smith intends to shoot his next feature, the Miramax Films produced “Jersey Girl.”

This marks the first time a theatrical short has aired on “The Tonight Show.”

Smith’s feature length directorial credits include “Mallrats,” “Chasing Amy,” Dogma” and “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,” which will be released on DVD Feb. 26.

Tomorrow’s gonna be a big day! Thanks to Alonso for the story.

  • Apparently, there’s a DVD of Jason Lee’s “American Cuisine” available through Amazon.com’s French version website. However, you’ll need a multiregion player to play it. If you’re a fan, there’s a rare chance to own that one for yourself.
  • A couple of links to share with you today…First off, a couple guys are working on a film called “Stash Bash”, about, you guessed it, 2 Kevin Smith fans. Check out their site HERE for continuing updates and info.
