June 24th @ 9:35 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • Don’t forget to pick up your sure to be fast selling copies of Spiderman/Black Cat: The Evil That Men Do #1, in your favorite local comic shops and newsstands on Wednesday the 26th! The book has, of course, been reviewed at The Fourth Rail, with 2 reviews HERE (7/10)and HERE (8/10). As usual, the book is well-received, though we’re hearing some rumblings of the content being a bit on the explicit side, which might spark the need for some shops to keep the book out of the kiddies’ hands. With the Spidey movie making the character this popular, though, we’re sure sales will still be great, and with Kevin on Leno to promote the book Tuesday nite (the first Tonight Show guest spot in history for a comic book, by the way), expect a lot of news.

  • George Carlin’s updated timeline at his official site (georgecarlin.com) now indicates:
Summer, 2002

Filming “Jersey Girl,” Kevin Smith’s new film for Miramax. Playing Ben Affleck’s father. Largest acting role so far. Fairly dramatic part. To be released in early 2003.

  • Diamond is now previewing the t-shirts based on the Mallrats comic book covers. UK fans might also be interested in this page which advertises a pre-order for the UK version of Jay & Bob on DVD (not to mention season one of one of the best shows on TV last season, “24” — What a finale that show had!).
  • Well, that Australian release of the Jay & Bob DVD is here (read a review if ya like) and, while not ALL the extras are on there, they DID get the commentary track, a rarity for that country.

  • We’ve got the scans of the Affleck stuff from Bigraphy now, hopefully clear enough for you to read. Click above for larger versions.

  • Speaking of that Biography magazine, a new shot (above) of Jason Lee and Julia Stiles from their upcoming “A Guy Thing” also appears in the issue.

  • This site apparently allows you to make lego creations of your own virtually, which someone used to make a lego-like Jay & Bob (seen above).
  • And don’t forget, Kevin on the Tonight Show for Black Cat/Spidey promo tomorrow night!
