Exit 37: The News Askew Jersey Girl Site!

September 24th @ 9:59 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • We’re proud to present our long overdue dedicated Jersey Girl site, “Exit 37”. This site will collect all of the related JG news stories from us, official press pieces, full cast information, photos, and lots more. Exit 37 will be the web’s first place for ALL the Jersey Girl related info, so bookmark it, and check it often. As the film gets busier, news will become exclusive to that site, but we’ll let you know when that happens. For now, it’s got everything from the beginning, so be sure to stop in and see what you’ve missed. Enjoy the new “Exit 37”!

Jersey Girl Watch…

  • Here’s another edition of the stalkerish “Jersey Girl” watch from the Philly Inquirier (but we mean that in the most complimentary sort of way, seriously):
The ‘Jersey Girl’ watch

Joining the Sunday brunch crowd at Bleu, on Rittenhouse Square: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, with two others. During their 90-minute chowdown on creme brulee French toast, Eggs Pacifica and Eggs Florentine, Affleck left periodically to smoke in the alley. (Let’s see. Affleck works out five or six times a week, as we reported Sunday, and he can’t get through a meal without a cigarette?)

Liv Tyler found a different way to relax. She got a seaweed wrap and hot stone massage the other day at Pierre & Carlo, the spa Downstairs at the Bellevue.

  • Alright, so if anyone wants to buy themselves (or hey, one of us) a cool Christmas present — This is certainly it. Ebay’s got the ORIGINAL COVER ART for Daredevil #6 up for grabs ! Wow. Fully signed, professionally framed. And it’s going for a LOT. Good luck, folks.
  • Clerks and Chasing Amy both MOVE ON in the Battle of the 90’s, determining the viewer’s #1 picks for the best of the last decade. Dogma has yet to compete, but may move on as well.
  • Jay & Silent Bob artist and all-around good guy Mike Oeming has a new discussion board online at Joe Quesada’s official website. His FULL COLOR Hammer of the Gods trade paperback hits stores on October 2nd. If your retailer is out, ask for it! It’s an excellent mini-series.
  • Here’s a few more details on the upcoming French release of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, on the 6th of November (finally!). French coherence required.
  • View Askew vet Brian Quinn is currently featuring the artwork of Walt Flanagan himself at his website. Visit the site HERE.
  • As you may have noticed, the new Superman script was reviewed over at AICN earlier this week, and WOW — Is it ever BAD. Sure, there’s a few interesting scenes and ideas here and there, but the way they mess with the backstory and, ouch, that ending…Really makes us want to read Kevin’s great script again. At any rate, check out the NEW script review at AICN and a petition against Warner Brother using said script at the Petition Online site.

Re-Register For News Askew Talkbacks Now!

  • Hey folks — Well, it seems that over the weekend our servers filled up (the place is too popular lately, we guess) and, well, it appears the server’s solution to that is to immediately start deleting any sort of account data that existed.

So, we’ve got a clean slate with Talkbacks. Which is nice, in a way. The Talkback system was never as robust as we wanted it to be, and to re-implement it would be a nightmare, so now we’ve got a clean user slate.

Anyway, now is your chance to REGISTER and get the Talkback nickname of your dreams. So click here to register now, all it takes is a username, email address, and a password. Simple as that, right?

Please note — If you are/were a member of the News Askew Forums, we’re also trying to decide what to do about all of those accounts right now. Visit the Forums for the latest on that, and sorry for any inconvenience.
