  • Well, here’s yet another reason to go to Philly if you weren’t already planning on being at the comicon at the end of this month — Exclusive Black & White Randal & Dante inaction figures! Of course as a tribute to the film stock used in Clerks, these are the same inaction design as currently available, though in glorious black & white. They will ONLY be available at WizardWorld Philly! We’re gonna see if we can get our hands on a set ahead of time to check out, but if not, say hi to us while we’re waiting in line to pick ours up. These are a must have, for sure. The latest Wizard magazine has the photo and the announcement (click above).

  • Maxim Magazine is currently having a “hometown hotties” contest, where local women send in photos and stats, and readers choose these favorites. You’ve gotta subscribe to the magazine to see the full list at Maximonline.com, however of key note is Laura from Chicago, who under the category of “Favorite Movie/Actor” lists: “Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” and under “Favorite Sport/Team” picks: “Hockey, Philly Flyers”. Can’t help but wonder how she’d feel about View Askew webmasters…
  • Vancouver-based all-news radio station, News1130, reports that a Clerks-inspired hockey game apparently took place up in the Great White North recently:
Canucks Fever Hits YVR
A contagious disease has hit Vancouver International Airport, but don’t worry – it’s not SARS – just a little case of Hockey fever. As the city gets ready for game four of the Vancouver-Minnesota playoff series, YVR held it’s first ever “Canucks appreciation day”. The festivities included free airbrushed team logos, a superfan contest and an appearance from team mascot “Fin”. The highlight for most people though was something that looked like it belonged in Kevin Smith’s “Clerks” movie. A couple dozen employees took some time off the job, grabbed their sticks and jerseys and had a game of street hockey on the roof of the airport’s parkade – which hit a minor snag the minute someone blasted the ball over the edge.

You all have a GREAT weekend! It’s finally feeling like Spring here in Pennsylvania, time to get out and have some fun! Enjoy.
