Ventura Distribution and IndieDVD are bringing a video retailer favorite to the VSDA show this year.
Kevin Smith, writer-director of Clerks, Mallrats, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (not to mention the upcoming J Lo/Ben Affleck starrer Jersey Girl), will appear at the show Tuesday, July 29th from, 4:30-6:30 PM at The Venetian Hotel, Floor 32, Suite 335.

Smith’s special appearance is in support of IndieDVD’s October 21st release of The Best Of Split Screen, which contains a collection of episodes from the Independent Film Channel’s series “Split Screen.â€
Smith arrives along with John Pierson, author of Spike, Mike, Slackers and Dykes. Pierson is also the producer who helped fund the early Spike Lee project She’s Gotta Have It, helped Michael Moore sell Roger and Me, and brought Smith’s Clerks to Miramax through the Sundance Film Festival.

More than 100 exhibitors have confirmed their participation in the VSDA’s Home Entertainment 2003, July 29–31, in Las Vegas, including 27 companies who are new to the event, according to the VSDA.
