  • Kevin gets name-checked (though admits he hasn’t worn his hoodie in over a year) in this satire cartoon on the Ben/Jen breakup over at The Onion.
  • A recent addition to the Askewniverse had some great thing to say about Kevin at a recent Q&A. Here’d details:
Askewniverse alum Marshal Willenholly, better known to the rest of the world as comedian Will Ferrell, spoke on Saturday night as part of The New Yorker Festival, an annual event at the Float nightclub in New York City at which Kevin himself appeared last year. He spoke for over an hour about his film and television career. While the majority of the talk centered around the success of Old School, his Bush impersonation, and upcoming projects, such as Elf and Anchorman, I did not want to let the night end without some mention of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to ask the last question of the evening, which was relatively lightweight, I admit. I asked him if, given the chance, would he like to work with Kevin Smith again. He replied enthusiastically, appreciating Kevin’s willingness to let him improvise a good deal, which is of course something Kevin doesn’t allow very often. Oddly, even though his work on that film hadn’t been mentioned up until I asked the question, it seemed there was a good deal of appreciation from the audience when he finally spoke about it. I’ve attached a few pictures. The hat did stay on the entire evening.

Jersey Girl Showest Promo Making Rounds…

September 24th @ 10:48 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Tons Of You!

  • Alright, so here’s the story behind the Jersey Girl Showest “trailer” that’s making the rounds on the net by force these days — Many months ago, a trailer was put together to air at Showest, which was aimed towards international distributions of the film. This was never meant as an official trailer for the film, yet it does feature a great deal of footage, including some wonderful scenes. It’s not at all what Miramax or View Askew want to call an official trailer for the film, though, and as an official source, we’ve been asked not to carry the trailer or link to it here for that purpose (hence the delay in posting this to you, as we tried to work this out). Truth be told, we tried to get a copy of this up for you many months ago, but the official position has always been to wait for the final trailer.
As with most things that leak out on the net, those of you who are resourceful enough should be able to track it down, though the powers that be can’t allow us to give out clues, links, or host a copy of this unofficial trailer here. Hopefully most of you will be able to track it down. Our advice, find it fast, while it’s still easy to come by. And of course, we’d love to hear your comments in the talkbacks if you get the chance to watch it. Happy hunting!
