  • Kevin made a call yesterday to the new Opie & Anthony Show on XM satellite radio. He actually had the distinction of being their first
celebrity guest. We’ve got the complete audio of the call here if you’d like to listen, or you can simply read the summary we’ve got here. Not much new
information during the interview, but Kev dished on the following:
– Kevin defended George Lucas’s decision to change the “Star Wars” movies for their DVD release.

– He plugged the “Clerks X” DVD set.

– He stated that only Dante, Randal, Jay, and Silent Bob would be back for “Clerks 2.”

– He gave some props to George Carlin and said that the guy only made one bad movie…”Jersey Girl.”

– He mentioned that he’ll be in Jersey this November to accept an award from the NJ Educational Association.

All the major players in radio seem to finally be embracing satellite, including Howard Stern, the biggest name in radio, who announced a voluntary move
to Sirius radio last week. We can’t wait for the uncensored show.

  • “Joey” as the Green Hornet? Dark Horizons posted this in their rumor mill:
‘Jack-out-of-his-box’ says that “I had an audition for “Joey” the other day, for Warner Bros. I’ve yet to hear back about the part and did hear some
interesting gossip while at the lot. Matt Le Blanc has apparently had meetings to star in the Green Hornet for the Weinsteins. Seems that apparently
getting someone of his statue would keep the budget down on the film quite a bit, and that’s what they’re going for, without having to resort to an
unknown”.
  • Jason Mewes couldn’t make his appearance on The Screen Savers late last week, as we announced. According to Alex Albrecht, Mewes will
appear, most likely, on next Thursday’s Screen Savers (for the LAN Party).
  • Here’s a weekend giggle for ya. Those of you familiar with Kevin’s story telling Jon Peters’ vision of SUPERMAN will enjoy this cut
together clip (drawn from many different films) of what a Jon Peters Superman teaser may have looked like. Fun stuff. Surf
HERE then check out “Jon Peters’ Dream”.
  • A brilliant new addition to Files Askew, the best do-it-yourself
printable Nails cigarettes box we’ve seen yet, has been created by Dave
Barr. If you thought you looked cool smoking before, imagine how much cooler you can be now! No kids, we don’t recommend you smoke. But it’s a neat prop
to make all the same. A full step by step creation guide can be found HERE.
  • Mewes apparently has a “Myspace” profile (one of those Friendster sort of chain-link things). Surf over and check out his growing harem of hot chick associations. And enjoy your weekend, fellow Askew fans. We’ll see you again soon.
