Kevin Says: “Don’t Miss Toronto”!

October 24th @ 8:30 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Ming

  • Kevin drops some interesting details about the big Toronto gig, happening on Thursday, November 18th. Of major importance is the fact
that Kevin says it’s highly worth the drive (big things must be planned!), promises a special guest, and reveals that this Q&A and just one other will be
filmed for the next DVD (so if you’ve got a good question to rock the mic with, chances are you’ll be famous!). Here’s Kevin:
Seriously – if you wanna be one of those people who stands at the microphone and asks questions on the DVD, so that one day, you can show it to your grandkids
and proudly declare “I was inquisitive in those days…” this is the only North American shot to make that happen. We’re shooting only two Q&A’s for
“Evening Harder”: this one in Toronto and one in London, England (that’s right, GB – you’re fucking next!). If you’re an American in the northeastern states,
trust me – the T.O. show’ll be worth the drive/flight. If you’re an American in the northwestern states, I can, in good faith, also suggest making the trip – as
it’s gonna be a killer Q&A that we’re saving for posterity. And since I’m not gonna be up in Canada alone at that point, I imagine there might be a guest…

It’s gonna be a blast. Last April’s Roy Thomson gig was one of the greatest Q&A’s I ever attended. Don’t miss out (or oot, as they say up there).

Full details are at the official View Askew site. You don’t wanna miss this one.

Mewes To Do “Degrassi”!

October 24th @ 8:29 pm | No Comments » | Scooped by Brad & Chris

  • Canadian site “The Gate” runs an addition piece on the Degrassi announcement with what looks to be an official confirmation that Jason Mewes WILL appear
on the program. We’ve all pretty much assumed his involvement since it just wouldn’t make sense with Bob only, given the plot. But it’s nice to hear that
Mewes will definitely be a part of the program:
Two days ago we reported to you that Kevin Smith will be appearing as a guest on this season’s final three episodes of Degrassi: The Next Generation, but today we’ve got a few more details to help flesh out the plan, and we can tell you now that it includes Jason Mewes.

According to some notes I received from CTV (the Canadian broadcaster who airs Degrassi in Canada) Smith and Mewes will guest-star as themselves and also as their famous alter-egos… Jay (Mewes) & Silent Bob (Smith). The three-episode story arc which is set to air in January will see the duo filming a fictional sequel to Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back where their characters have to find a school to get their high-school diplomas (you guessed it, none of the schools in the U.S. would take them), and Smith ends up picking Degrassi as the best place to shoot.

You can read the full story at their site (the rest mostly goes on to rehash stuff we’ve reported
previously).

  • Jason Mewes is on the schedule (sans Kevin) for the November edition of Wizard World in Texas. Details and a partial guest list can be
found at Comic Book Resources. The show runs November 5th through the 7th. We figure Kevin’s
Degrassi commitment is likely keeping him from making this one. No word on if Jay or View Askew will have any special exclusive goodies at the event yet.
  • Today, on Canoe Jam, the question of the day asks: Would you watch ‘Degrassi’ if Kevin Smith was a
guest star? They have 4 choices for answers, with “Yes, I’d watch it if he was on” clearly leading the way.
  • Jason Lee’s appearing on The Disney Channel for interviews regarding “The Incredibles” as part of their “Movie Surfers” feature.
He talks about his role and working on the film. Catch it if you’ve got kids who are glued to the channel 24/7.
  • Pauly Shore’s movie “Pauly Shore is Dead” is now scheduled for a January 25th DVD release.
Although he’s not listed on the cover art amongst the stars who make cameo appearances, Jason Mewes does show up in a small role in the flick. Should be
    fun.
  • For you ahead of time calendar markers, especially those who love the thrill of watching a View Askew flick on basic cable,
