- View Askew alums Morris Day and The Time (“Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back”) have announced that they’re reuniting for a new album and tour. Welcome back, fellas.
- Jason Lee’s new show, “Memphis Beat”, premieres June 22nd on TNT. If you’d like an early look, AMC movie theaters have been running a segment on it during its 20 minute pre-show news lately. So far, we’re liking what we see — Lee should knock this one outta the park, too. It was weird not having “Earl” back on the tube this year, but it’ll be nice to see Lee in front of the cameras again this summer.
- This week on Retro Radio, “Clerks”‘s Marilyn Ghigloitti takes on John Wesley Shipp, “The Flash” — Listen right now at the official Retro Radio portal on the web. Her new show covers film, tv, comics, music and more, with a retro slant of the 1980’s.

How’d our teams do? Courtesy the awesome Brantford iPhone app, take a look – Puck U went undeafeated with 3 big wins! The Leonardo Reapers followed close behind with 2 wins. Still, major props to all the teams who went up, because after all, you really can’t lose playing ball hockey in Brantford as a part of this tournament. Fun times had by all, with great friends and sportsmanship. Our hats off to all the players who participated, and the fans who attended that and last night’s live SModcast event, about which Kevin said:

- Just a few more details on that awesome double bill show in Dallas we announced yesterday — The show is indeed planned to be a 2-3 hour event, with Tell ‘Em Steve-Dave on first, followed by a brief intermission, then on to Kevin and Scott with SModcast. Buy ’em up, they won’t last.
- This fan-made image uses some stills from the films of Kevin to prove that Seann William Scott often is employed riding in backseats when he appears in films.

- It’s a double bill! LIVE SModcast, along with opening act LIVE “Tell ‘Em Steve Dave” starting at 7 PM, one night only, July 28th, at the Granada Theater in Dallas. Once word gets out that you can catch both of these guys, on one stage, it’s gonna sell out — Trust us. We’ve got the inside track on it, and a direct link for ordering your tickets RIGHT NOW. - This one’s a way advanced calendar alert, as we usually don’t see these scheduled this far out — However, being local has some advantages with this one. The Keswick Theater in Glenside, PA (a suburb of Philly) has already announced sales and started selling tickets for a Kevin Smith live show on Saturday, April 2, 2011. Yes, 10 months from now. If you’re local, and know the place, it’s worth looking into. Not a lot of official announcements on this one yet due to the timeframe, but if they’re selling the seats, seems like it’ll happen.
- Vincent Pereira’s “A Better Place”, one of the best flicks to come out of View Askew Productions’ independent film series, is now available for instant streaming on Netflix. If you haven’t seen this one, or just haven’t watched it in a while, it’s totally worth a rewatch. Fantastic story with 2 incredible lead performances, and excellent direction from first-time filmmaker Pereira. One of our faves. Check it out.
- International tube alert – Catch the great “Clerks 2” this Sunday night, at 11 PM, on Go Channel 88 in Australia.
- We’re suckers for kids playing on the escalator stories ever since “Mallrats”, and we’ve seen our share, but you just gotta check this one out, from Turkey — It’s got video with it. Holy moly.
