- On the eve of what we believe we will be first shooting day for Keivn’s new horror thriller, “Red State”, comes the biggest casting news yet — That mysterious name that Kevin was so excited about coming on board has been revealed. None other than the great John Goodman. Goodman is best known for his role in “Roseanne”, but has been turning in some fantastic character work over the years (check out his incredible filmography for some examples — Anyone remember his small role in “Barton Fink”? Great stuff.) Goodman’s role has yet to be defined for certain, though we’re guessing and hoping that he’s playing one of the film’s villains/antagonists — Though Kevin himself has stated the film has few, if any, redeeming characters.
The script for “Red State” has had those who read it talking that it’s so dark and bleak, a total 180 from any of Kevin’s previous lighter works, that folks will be shocked. We can’t wait to see what he and the crew have in store for us. Stay tuned here at News Askew, as the cameras start to roll – We’ll keep you posted, and as spoiler-free as possible, of course.
