Askewniverse alum Marshal Willenholly, better known to the rest of the world as comedian Will Ferrell, spoke on Saturday night as part of The New Yorker Festival, an annual event at the Float nightclub in New York City at which Kevin himself appeared last year. He spoke for over an hour about his film and television career. While the majority of the talk centered around the success of Old School, his Bush impersonation, and upcoming projects, such as Elf and Anchorman, I did not want to let the night end without some mention of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to ask the last question of the evening, which was relatively lightweight, I admit. I asked him if, given the chance, would he like to work with Kevin Smith again. He replied enthusiastically, appreciating Kevin’s willingness to let him improvise a good deal, which is of course something Kevin doesn’t allow very often. Oddly, even though his work on that film hadn’t been mentioned up until I asked the question, it seemed there was a good deal of appreciation from the audience when he finally spoke about it.
