  • We’re receiving a TON of advance word from News Askew readers, unanimously enjoying the flick a great deal. Some more than others, but across the board, opinions have been excellent regarding the film. Here’s some blurbs from those who’ve seen the flick already…
The best part of the movie is the action sequences. Ben seems a little awkward making some of the moves in a scene or two, though. Kevin’s cameo was great. I couldn’t help but hoot out loud as soon as I saw the back of his head. He was typing an e-mail in the scene and I couldn’t quite make out what it said but I’m sure there was an in-joke there somewhere. There’s also a big website name listed on the page that he’s typing on, so that might be something to check out too (sorry, missed the actual name on that too). Check the movie out if you have some spare time this weekend. The time between action scenes seems to drag, but it’s worth your $10 just to see Kevin saying the only curse words in the entire movie.

Got a chance to check out an advance screening of Deredevil tonight and I have to say it was very good. (Dare I say a tad bit better then Spiderman?) Anyway although i was very unsure if Affleck could pull off a superhero lead i must say that he did a great job even with some of those awful one liners. And of course the man himself Kevin Smith also pulls off a good cameo.

Just wanted to let you know that i went to the preview showing of DareDevil today (oh the joys of working at a cinema) and it KICKS ASS! Ben Affleck can do no wrong. And kevin Smith was also superb. Someone get him a lead role!

I’ve had the luck of having been able to see Daredevil twice (theater gigs ain’t fer nothin’) and absolutly loved it. Ben did a great job as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and all the cameos by Kevin Smith, Stan Lee, and Frank Miller (that’s not even including all the artist/creator name drops) were a fanboy’s wet dream. That, combined with a crap ton of “comic book pose” money shots, made this film that much more enjoyable.

No more reviews please, by the way…We’re gonna defer to the other review sites like Rotten Tomatoes and such now and let them take over with their better review coverage. Go out and enjoy the film tomorrow, we’re sure it’ll come in at #1, the only question is, how big will the box office be? DVD Talk’s “Aisle View” sums it up best: “Finally, they got it right”.
