- For those of you keeping track of Matt & Ben’s Project Greenlight, Zentertainment reports:
‘STOLEN SUMMER’ CASTINGS
Aidan Quinn (Practical Magic) has committed to starring in STOLEN SUMMER, the PROJECT GREENLIGHT drama written and directed by nline contest winner Pete Jones. Kevin Pollak and Brian Dennehy also star in the film, about a young boy searching for a way to get his dying Jewish friend into Heaven. The production of the MIRAMAX film will be documented for a 13-part HBO series.
- Speaking of Affleck, he’s featured on the cover of the new Newsweek, which features a story on the upcoming Pearl Harbor. The only question is, will the flick take in as much as The Mummy Returns did last weekend? Our coverage of the film here, which will surely have a TON of press, will be limited due to all the other stuff going on more closely relating to View Askew.
- In the liner notes of the new album by Blues Traveler, “Bridges†(which comes out this week,) buried in the middle of the ‘thank you’ section, it reads:
“…it only remains for me to take off all of my clothes paint myself bright purple climb to highest spire in town and cry for all to hear, I love you Amy Greuter… Kevin Smith was right sooner or later we will all be ‘Chasing Amy.’â€
- All this month the Emerald Theater in Mt. Clemens, Michigan is showing one of the View Askew film every Wednesday night. Last Wednesday was Dogma, this Wednesday is Clerks, next Wednesdat is Chasing Amy, and the following Wednesday is Mallrats. The shows all start at 9 PM (they’re also showing an episode of Clerks TCS before each of the movies, by the way). Tickets are only $2. More info can be found HERE.
- Finally today, a fan has made 2 MP3 “mixes†of sorts titled “Silent Bob Bio†and “Bodie Bio†which you can get respectively HERE and HERE. I can’t listen to or test these from work, so listen at your own risk!
