- Quite a few folks who live around that Eden Prairie Mall wrote in after reading our newsbite yesterday…While a couple agree it sorta looks like a ghost town, most assured us that the mall IS alive and well, just undergoing heavy renovation. So it’s not as bad as we made it sound. Just to clear that up. Thanks to all who wrote in.
- According to Variety, Dogma’s doing quite well in Australia. Its $6 million was the best bow, behind stayer “American Beauty,†with $535,000, but ahead of “Anywhere But Here†($308,000) and “Joan of Arc†($105,229, foreign total $34.6 million). Not bad!
- Ben Affleck will indeed host SNL not this Saturday, as originally stated, but the following. Fiona Apple (oooh…Fiona Apple) will be his musical guest. Maybe she’ll do that cool “Fast As You Can†tune.
- UK magazine Empire is one of those publications where a TON of Askew related mentions seem to pop up every issue. Not too much new, but it’s always interesting to see what they’re talking about:
Page 38 – Under “Rumours†of movie projects, the following: “Clerks sequel – There has been talk of a TV series, but rumours of a follow-up to Kevin Smith’s micro-budgeted convenience store classic are running rife. No sign of any concrete evidence at this stage, though.â€
Huh. Talk of a TV series? And no sign of a flick? Give the guy a chance!
- Blockbuster Video named ‘Chasing Amy’ number 5 on its Top 10 romantic movies to rent for Valentine’s Day weekend.
- Quesada & Palmiotti have been busy making some new deals & annoucements. The famous Daredevil duo will give Punisher the Marvel Knights treatment, with Garth Ennis writing and Palmiotti inking. Quesada is writing Iron Man #26, where the lead actually gets his mask ripped off. Sounds interesting.
- Finally today, here’s some scans that we talked about in the ‘bites yesterday…Look closely to spot those Jay & Bob figs…
Very short one today, but we thought it’d be better to stay on top of stuff. Check out our C2 and Clerks TCS pages for some minor information and cosmetic updates, too. We’ll see ya.
