• Whew. That’s all we gotta say. First of all, our Flyers disappointed a bit, they were looking tired on Sunday and got blanked by the Caps 2-0. Then we walk out of the MCI Center to an ICE STORM! After driving 5 hours in HORRIBLE weather from DC to Harrisburg, we made it back around 10 PM last night by some miracle, missing the entire Superbowl in the process (but hey, at least The Sorpranos started at 10!). On the upside, we spent Saturday night out on the town and had a total blast — Had some AMAZING chili at a joint called the Hard Times Cafe, then hit a jumpin’ Irish joint called Murphy’s. Afine time was had by all. And that DC metro system is very, very nice.

So, that being said, a few things to report on today, including of course the pair of Clerks TCS ads that aired last night, some news from the land of Sundance, and a couple other tidbits. Most of the stuff’s in the form of NewsBites, but trust us, read ‘em, there’s some important info there.

• Got a ton of folks writing in to correct us on the UMASS appearance – Apparently, they have different campuses, and Kev’s not coming to the one most thought (Boston) — Instead, he’ll be at the AMHERST campus. Sorry for any confusion.

• Dogma just crossed the big $30,000,000 mark! According to Yahoo, the flick ranked 43rd this weekend, earning another $125K to bring it to a tally of $30,130,285.

• Well, as most of you know, Kevin spent the last week or so in Sundance as a judge — And the big moment hit on Saturday as he got on stage to present the award for Best Director in the Drama category. We’ll let our scooper take over with his summary of what he saw on the Sundance channel:

Also, a small paragraph from the Salt Lake City Tribune threw Kevin a nice compliment:

• Kevin stopped by the web board before the big game last night (as we drove through the muck) to let everyone know when the ads were gonna air. One aired during pregame, around 5:45, the other, after it was all in the books. The ad introduces all the characters, then jokes a bit regarding when the show’s actually hitting the air. It was quite well received.

• Got a special SATURDAY update today — We’re heading down to Washington, D.C. for the rest of the weekend (until Superbowl) to watch the Flyers kick the Caps’butts on Sunday, plus we’ll be hitting the town tonight — So if anyone’s out & about in DC, WATCH OUT!!! Too bad we’re outta here in a couple of hours, or else we might have gotten some tips from some of you on where the cool spots to hit in town are. At any rate, we’ll be back with another update, but most likely not until Monday due to the trip and the big game and all.

For now, a few items of interest today – Some news on Dogma in Australia, all good stuff, which is nice to see. Couple of other newsbites, as well as a possible appearance upcoming for Kev (it’s been a while!). Also, take note of the ABP graphic above — Don’t miss out on your chance to order that amazing deal of “A Better Place” from DVD Express. Get them before they’re gone, even if ya DON’T own a DVD player. It’s a really great package.

Alright then, here’s what we got for ya:

• Roughcut.Com posted a bit about the possibility about Dogma being nominated for Best Screenplay at the Oscars, though we can’t really decide whether they were trying to be positive or negative here. Seems to us they like the flick, but have no faith in the Academy’s selection of it for any major awards. We seriously hope the film doesn’t get overlooked, at LEAST for screenplay, because the more you listen to the flick, the more impressive all of that dialogue really is:

• Entertainment Tonight reports that a the “Reindeer Games” preview will air in its entirety after the Superbowl on Sundaynight. It looks like a fun little flick, so if you’ve yet to see the footage, you might want to stay tuned in to check itout. By the way, hope your ankle’s on the mend and feeling better, Ben.
• Rumor has it (well, one scooper, we suppose the one person in the world who watches the show) that Renée Humphrey (”Trish The Dish”) was murdered on CBS’s Diagnosis: Murder the other night. Ummmm…okaaaay.

Off to the land of Clinton…We’ll see ya sometime after the big game with some impressions on the big Clerks TV ads and more. Have a great weekend, folks.

• Reports have been coming in from the Australian sneak previews. We’re not getting a ton of detail, but we’re hearing that audience reaction to the film has been VERY positive, with applause and cheers throughout the flick. Folks love Jay & Silent Bob, Bob’s famous line on the train, God’s appearance at the end, and overall, they dig Dogma. Very good news indeed.

Also, a couple promotions to win free passes to the flick in Australia have popped up online. First, the TEN National TV Network is running a promotion and contest for the film on their website. Also, Village, one of the major cinema chains, have a competition running for some free passes. Read about the contest HERE, and their promotion for Dogma at their site HERE.

• Here’s an EXCLUSIVE scoop for ya that we’ve seen nowhere else — Looks like Kevin’s back on the appearance circuit with an appearance at the University of Massachusetts on Tuesday, February 22nd! We can’t urge you enough to get in to see Kevin speak, you won’t be sorry. Kevin’s stories and comments are always a blast — You’ll have more fun at the apperance than going to see a stand-up comedian, trust us. With Dogma come and gone and Clerks TCS around the corner, we’re sure that he’ll have a ton of new anecdotes, as well. Here’s the official notice:

By the way, Kev always comes right out and starts with Q&A, there’s no speeches or anything, so come prepared with some GOOD questions that the guy hasn’t heard before! The fun starts at 8 PM, February 22nd.

• Lion’s Gate has one of those “for your consideration” ads for “DOGMA” in this week’s Hollywood Reporter. The ad is trying to encourage Academy members to nominate Alanis’ “Still” for Best Original Song and Howard Shore’s score for Best Score in this one.
• Dogma is poised to break the $30 million mark by the end of next weekend, with a current cumulative domestic gross of $29,929,582. Way cool.
• “Overnight Delivery”, Kev’s bastardized script (though some elements of Kev’s dialogue still shine through) is airing on UK television Friday night, the 28th, on “Sky Moviemax” at 10:00 PM.
• Dogma premiered in Australia on Tuesday night to some packed exclusive showings at Hoyt’s cinemas. Word has it that the film was received quite well by audiences.
• Russ’s Dogma Companion (which lists a summary-like grouping of Dogma facts, flubs, and facts) has been completed and can be found HERE.
• Jay’s being spotted on more episodes of MTV’s Say What? Karaoke this week. Apparently they tape a few shows on the same day, so the guy’s been around multiple episodes. Now if we could only get the guy on that Real World/Road Rules Challenge program. That would be a sight to see.

• A couple new revelations come out of this USA Today piece on Clerks TCS. First of all, ads for the show will air during the Superbowl this Sunday, a prime location to get MAXIMUM exposure for the program. YES. That’s a great start. Also, it seems that Jerry Seinfeld has been tapped to lend his voice to an upcoming episode. COOL. Here’s more:
