Kevin’s Massive Board Q&A!!

  • The man went on a rampage last night, taking on questions big and small over at our infamous “Board”. If you wanna read each and every word, get on over there. If you’re interested in the news-worthy type stuff, read on:
  • He considers that there’s a 50/50 chance of Clerks 2 making it to Cannes this year.
  • They’re looking at around a 1,000 screen “targeted” release of Clerks 2.
  • The extended cut of Jersey Girl is still a few years away from a DVD release.
  • Columbia/Tristar would be willing to pony up cash for a long version of Dogma, including finishing the Hell sequence during Azrael’s speech. The new cut currently runs about 3 hours.
  • On considering writing a kids book : “I am. It’s something I’ve been threatening to do for five years now. Got the story all mapped out; just need to devote a little time to it and get it to an artist.”
  • On the next flick: “I know what the next flick is, but it’s not “Ranger Danger”. We’re still one away from tackling that.”

And there you have it, folks! We gotta say, we’re in TOTAL support of a smaller, targeted release for Clerks 2. Put it on the screens where folks will WANT to see it. Big cities, college towns, and the like. Create demand. Sell out some shows! Sure, with a smaller releae you likely don’t get to tout being “First Place” for that weekend, but we’re betting our per-screen average on this one is going to open some eyes. Let’s hope they stick with the small rollout strategy. It’s perfect for the flick.
