- We thought that Kev and Scott might be taking a month off due to being so busy with the movie release, but nope, the guys quietly gifted us with a new episode of SModcast last week, and we don’t think you’ll want to miss it. Episode #65 breaks down like this:
SModcast 65: Captain Kev and Mister Scott – In which our heroes race with the devil, question a non-singing moon-walker, and make contact with the most aloof alien in the galaxy.

While the front page is very centered on “Zack And Miri” and the webisodes this month, surfing down and clicking the Quick Stop Entertainment banner will get you back to the site’s normal facade. - Yep, check it out — Evidence that the “Porno” portion of the title is being dropped from some markets. This comes from an ad that aired surprisingly during a late night slot, Saturday Night Live on NBC in some markets. Watch for the title card at the end stating simply “Zack And Miri”. Now, keep in mind, the full title is still what stands, but marketing did agree to shorten the title to appease advertisers where needed. Plus, when audiences hit ticket windows to buy on October 31st, we know we’re all going to be asking for tix to just “Zack And Miri” anyway.
- The promotion machine continues with a lot more opportunities to immerse yourself into the world of “Zack And Miri” on the web — The latest, a discovery from JoBlo, invites you to visit a new URL called “ZackAndMiriFootage.com”, where you answer some questions as Zack or Miri, some of which may relate to plot points in the film, and get judged on the type of porno you wound up with. Give it a shot, and see what type of scores you can chalk up. Results seem to be quite varied and fun, who knows how many combinations there might be. Enjoy.

- If you’re as addicted to the “Money Shots” webisodes as we are, you probably don’t need us to remind you that these morsels of fun from the “Zack And Miri Make a Porno” set are flying freely on a daily basis, exclusively at multimedia portal Quick Stop Entertainment.
This week, the guys have debuted a hilarious new format of “The More You Porno” PSA type stinger segments, our fave being one from Jason Mewes – Nice delivery. We’ll say no more. See for yourself over at QSE. We have a feeling more stingers like this are on the way.
The aforementioned Mewes shot is currently holding up the front page, but also seek the archives for part two of the Ricky Mabe interviews, along with a special PSA from Ricky himself.

- JoBlo kicks off the ‘bites today with a video of their own – A quite bizarre promotional video for “Zack And Miri” directed by Tony Kaye (“American History X”). The video was filmed for Mean Magazine and JoBlo picked up on it to run. We won’t even try and figure it out or describe it — Give it a look and see for yourself.
- Complex Magazine was kind enough to place video, photos, and text from their big Kevin Smith / Seth Rogen story online a week or so back, and we ran the story, though if you prefer, we’ve also got scans of the article as it appears in the magaizine itself (on good ‘ol fashioned paper) this month. Click and enjoy.
- Don’t forget, Kevin visits Jay Leno and “The Tonight Show” tomorrow (Friday) night! We’ll see ya then.

- “Money Shots” continue to fly fast and furious under the watchful eye of producers Zak Knutson and Joey Figueroa. The latest episode presented on the QSE front page (at presstime) involves the hilarious Kenny Hotz of “Kenny vs. Spenny” fame, mixing it up with Rogen. Hotz was on set to film a cameo appearance in the film.
In the archives, in case ya missed it over the weekend, is Episode Three, which features the two leads of our movie, Rogen and Banks spend a few minutes at Zack And Miri’s kitchen table.
“Money Shots” webisodes will continue running all month long, and remain free and exclusive at View Askew’s entertainment portal on the web, Quick Stop Entertainment.

- Catch the front page of Quick Stop Entertainment for the first episode of “Money Shots” following the intro — This one also features Smith and Rogen in a “private” conversation early on during production. It’s funny to see that the guys predicted some of the press that would come along well after shooting had finished. As always, these exclusive web shorts come to us from Quick Stop Entertainment, the entertainment portal on the web brought to you by View Askew. All webisodes are produced and directed by Zak Knutson and Joey Figueroa.
Missed the intro? Never fear – Today’s update also introduced an archive page which will have every episode in order, in case you missed one. The front page at QSE will always be the home of the latest edition. There’s no word on how many episodes are in the can at this point, but Zak did mention the plan was to run a new one daily up until the film’s release, so we’re expecting somewhere from 20 to 30 clips as the month rolls on. Stay tuned to News Askew as well as the front page of Quick Stop Entertainment for the latest “Money Shots”.

- Kevin was honered with the “Maverick Award” at this past weekend’s Woodstock Film Festival in New York, where he gave an enjoyable acceptance speech. Thanks to the wonder that is YouTube, we’ve already got the complete video of the event and speech, in 3 easy to digest parts:
Kevin was at the festival to present “Zack And Miri Make a Porno” in a special screening, as well as to accept the honor of this great award. Between all 3 parts, the speech runs around 15 minutes and change. As always, NSFW, so tread carefully.

- You’ve seen it in various streaming formats on the web in the past few weeks, now you can watch the green band (audience approved) version of the trailer for “Zack And Miri Make a Porno” at the mecca for all high quality trailers, the Apple Quicktime site. All resolutions are supported, though we highly recommend the HD versions for the clearest look. And while you’re there, pick a copy up for your iPod or iPhone and show it off to your friends! “Zack And Miri” take over theaters in just 4 weeks – October 31st.
