Also, do you have any rules about writing notes during a viewing?Ebert: What I sometimes try to do is, refer to an event in a movie in a way that means one thing if you’ve seen it but another thing, although making sense, if you haven’t. The Best “Zack And Miri” Clip Yet!!!
- This brand new, NSFW clip from “Zack And Miri” make a porno can be considered somewhat spoilerish, so before you just click away, be warned — It spoils a really funny cameo, but heck, it’s WORTH it to us!
We won’t say much, other than this clip involves a great deal of the cast, a key element of the film’s title, and a great surprise special guest cameo. And man, is it ever FUNNY. Showing a clip like this around should easily raise interest in the movie, though, so we can see why Kevin has this one making the rounds — After you watch this, we just can’t see how you’d be able to stay away from the film next weekend.JoBlo links the clip which comes to us originally courtesty of Cinemablend. - Somehow, Kevin and Scott are managing to keep up with the SModcast schedule despite this likely being one of the busiest times in their lives the past year, or even possibly since they started recording the podcast. Cartoon Network’s “Zack And Miri” Promo Spot…
- A bit more info on that Cartoon Network “Zack And Miri” spot that we briefly mentioned yesterday — It opens with text on the screen: Tonight, we school you on the making of a Skin Flick. 1. Concept! [animated scene] 2. Audition “talent”. [animated scene] 3. And, Money Shot! [animated scene] The final scene states the following: That’s a wrap! Pop Quiz Sunday night during the Zack and Miri Make a Porno exclusive trailer. Adult Swim.
So, that means we’ll be seeing something that’s never been seen on the web or TV before on Cartoon Network this Sunday night. Cool.
Our scooper captured it with a digital camera, so the quality isn’t the greatest, but take a look at the current spot, then tune in Sunday for their exclusive!
The Web’s First “Zack And Miri” Clips!
KS: I saw it [WATCHMEN] once when they had out of something like 500 visual FX shots, they only had 10% done. Next time I saw it, I think they had 15% done. That’s the one think I haven’t really said. I watched that movie without all the FX shots done. Through most of the movie, Billy Crudup – even as Dr. Manhattan – looks like Billy Crudup. And still that movie works like gangbusters, even though it’s not completely fleshed out and finished visually speaking with the digital FX. That being said, when I watched the movie, the biggest impression I walked away with was, This could totally be Pulp Fiction to some degree. For the mainstream audience, when Pulp Fiction came along, they said, Okay, I know crime thrillers. I know the genre, kind of. But this is a movie that spins it with this left of center view. With Watchmen, you’ve got people very familiar with the comic-book format of the movie, but it takes this left of center view of it. People who love the comic book are definitely going to go in droves, but I think they’re going to get a lot of people who would never see this movie – based on the buzz factor. It’s the goods, man. It’s a really smart, intelligent film. It’s just like reading the book, but a movie.
Man, “Watchmen” just sounds better and better every time Kev mentions it.
As a bonus, Collider was also given the first set of actual clips from “Porno” — This isn’t just a re-hash of the trailers or commercials, but actual (edited) clips from the movie! - We hope everyone’s voting in 2 weeks — One fan however had the chance to absentee vote, and though we certainly don’t condone or recommend this, filed himself for president as a write-in, with Kevin Smith as his VP. And yep,

Hulu’s Got Kevin On Leno!
- Kevin made another memorable appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Friday night, and the magic of amazing video site Hulu allows us to bring you directly to that moment of the program. This time around, Kevin stops in to tell a tale some of you may be familiar with, which took place during a recent poker game at The Stash inside Laser Blazer. We’ll leave the joy of the tale for you to discover if you’ve yet to hear — What we like about this clip is that, having heard the story, it’s interesting to see how Kevin continues to craft it and embellish with more details and jokes — Resulting in the type of epics we get during the Q&A appearances (our review of Threevening is coming up tomorrow, by the way).
Check out the clippage with the tale, along with a nice clip and plug for “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” — Leno has a bit of trouble with the title, but Kevin takes it in stride and once again makes a hilarious stop on Leno’s couch, having the audience howling and certainly helping to recruit more business for the film, arriving in theaters everywhere on Friday, October 31st, 2008.

Smith & Rogen Guest In A New Podcast…
- Scene Unseen’s movie review podcast welcomes special guests Kevin Smith AND Seth Rogen to celebrate their 100th episode. Their gimmick features two reviewers, one who has seen a film, one not. Interesting concept, eh? The show runs for a full hour and fifteen minutes, where they discuss the flick of the week, “Blindness”, among several other topics, including “Conquest of the Planet of the Apes” (and Tim Burton), “The Last American Virgin,” “Gigli” (a film that Rogen actually auditioned for), Kevin’s “Watchmen” review, “Three Amigos,” “Slacker,” a fantastic Chris Rock story, and so much more.
Of course, you’ll also hear some new insight into “Zack and Miri” as the duo promote the film, now less than two weeks away from theaters.
