- Philly.com will sponsor an online chat with Kevin at 2 PM on Monday, June 26th (yes, THIS Monday, folks). They’re offering up an e-mail address to send your questions in, so we’re not sure if the chat will be open to all to participate in, or just to watch. If you wanna know something, it wouldn’t hurt to send it in ahead of time. Get some good questions brewing!
- Wanna see Clerks II early? Sure ya do! MovieContests.com and Alliance Atlantis are giving away double passes to the advance screening of the flick, which will take place on Thursday, July 20th. The screening will take place in Vancouver. Entering is as easy as filling out a form at their website and, as is with all Canadian contests, answering a SKILL question. Oooooo. Good luck, and win it, News Askew readers!
- The official clerks trailer that you’ve seen at the official site is now also available via the widely surfed Apple Quicktime site. An ipod-sized version is also there.
- Kevin’s Superman script gets a mention in this review of the new flick from Comic Book Resources. As always, watch for spoilers — We’re waiting to see this one before reading up on all the reviews.
- More glowing press for “My Name Is Earl”, this time from Australian publication “The Age”. Enjoy your weekend, folks! Thanks for stopping in and we’ll see you again real soon — Less than a month until Clerks II!!!
The NEW Becky Poster!
- Kevin cryptically posted this new version of the Rosario (as Becky) poster today, but didn’t mention if this teaser would replace that previous Rosario in leather shot that so many folks (present company included) dug. This image certainly represents her character in the film better (we certainly don’t recall the black leather in the film, and we’re pretty sure we WOULD recall such an outfit), so it could just be a marketing thing. We’ll see what we can find out. Still worth hanging on your wall regardless, of course.
Clerks II: TV Ad HERE!
- YouTube does it again! Here’s the Clerks II TV ad that’s now airing in select markets , though we warn you, some spoilers contained inside including one BIG one…So watch at your own risk. Also interesting is the “This Film Is Not Yet Rated” tag on the end…Though the R has been approved, we guess it’s not official yet or something. So, we’ll wait for that R-tagged ad, in the meantime, enjoy this, the first of what we’re sure are many Clerks II ads to come.
As always, we recommend going in totally cold on Kev’s flicks, the surprises are so much more fun (and this one really does twist around a lot)…But of course, it’s there if you wanna peep it. Enjoy.

- Bruce checks in from Houston with a nice summary of Brian & Jeff’s appearance on KTBZ Radio this morning, which confirms the theatrical podcast:
- The IMDB’s “Truly Trivial” repeats one from a few years back, but in case you missed it, or are rough on your View Askew history, check this one out:
- Kevin gets some props at Pop Culture site 411mania today when one of its members discusses his desire for a remake of the film “Spies Like Us”:
Call us crazy, but it could be funny. See ya later!
Clerks II: Theatrical One Sheet!
- The Weinstein Co has officially finalized the one sheet for Clerks II, and it’s a true beauty. Click the pic for a nice high resolution version of this work of art, featuring the beautiful Rosario Dawson flanked by our two beloved duos. It’s a nicely done poster which should catch a lot of eyes, and definitely look good here at News Askew home base up on the wall amongst the other flicks of the past. Of course, it’s GOTTA be signed, so we’ll let you know how you can get your own signed copy via the Stash as soon as possible, as we’ll most certainly be ordering ours up as well.
The version we have here is a little photoshopped-looking, admittedly, due to the source. The final version, which you can see a shot of at sites like Canmag, Coming Soon and the great JoBlo. Kevin is also reading comments on the one sheet at the Board. Personally, we dig it. It does its job to attract the consumer and gets a simple message across. Like the one-sheet, Clerks II is a winner. Love that tagline, too.
Until then, be patient, click and stare, and wait for this one sheet to arrive at a theater near you.
First Clerks II Ad Airs!
- The first ad for Clerks II has appeared on television in an amazingly visible spot — During last night’s NBA Finals. The ad aired between 10:45 and 10:55 EST and represents some excellent initial exposure for the film. Looks like we’re going to see a fairly big publicity push for this one. The ad DOES contain a few spoilers for the film, alas (so watch out), and plays to the tune of AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long”. We’re guessing it’s going to show up a lot more in the coming days and weeks, so stop zapping those ads and look for it — Unless you’re worried about the spoilage, of course.

Train Wreck: The First Clerks 2 Screening!
![]() “The First Screening” |
- Though we were mum on attending this big event back in December (highly confidential), this latest edition of Clerks II video blog “Train Wreck” rocks, as Brad himself was in person in the audience (watch closely for a shot of me in a black and white stiped button down shirt checking in with Smalls in the opening moments, and around 5 rows back towards the left in the crowd shots). Lucky enough to enjoy this film for the first time with an audience, now you can experience what it was like to be there as well. A full report’s coming, though it’s been in the shadows, waiting for the Clerks II release to see the light of day. So watch for that, and in the meantime, enjoy the latest edition of Zak and Joey’s “Train Wreck”, free of charge as always via the Clerks II website.
