So I’m here in Pittsburgh, hooked up to a new WebTV unit (compliments of one generously appreciative fan). And having been here all of four hourse, I can say that – with the exception of no Kim (and subsequently, no annoying little cat) – life’s not much different. Brought all the comforts of home with me (the aforementioned media center, plus a stack of comics, my computer, and a mother of a dictionary), and I’m digging in my heels for what’s shaping up to be a three month stay (haven’t done the lengthy hotel thing ‘Rats’… a bad omen, perhaps, for this film’s B.O. and critical future).

Not many folks here yet – just me, Mos, Mewes, Rat (our trusty production designer), Laura (our line producer, who also worked on ‘Rats’… there’s that omen again), and some art department folks, along with some office-types. In the morn I check out location shots, as well as the preliminary No-Man photos (can’t wait). After that, it’s five hours with the storyboard cat to break down some scenes.

I’ll spend the next few weeks doing the fifth and final draft on the flick (gotta trim some fat and update some outdated jokes), as well as rehearsing with Mewes (that takes some time). The rest of the folks’ll start arriving in a couple of weeks (Affleck’s finishing his killer comet picture, and Matty’s wrapping ‘Rounders’; Rock’s doing his best to make ‘Lethal 4’ a tolerable flick; the remaining cast’s presumably enjoying their last days of freedom), and then it’s time to see if this dog(ma) will hunt.

With WebTV in place, it’ll be no prob to check in on a daily basis like always. Should make for interesting posts – I don’t think we did this during production on ‘Amy’. You guys’ll be getting info nightly – straight from the set. And no doubt Affleck’ll pop by more frequently (we’ll be playing some hardcore Genesis EA Hockey when he’s not all up in Emma’s grill). I’ll see how many of the cast I can get to post now and then (then again, considering they’re already taking salary cuts and opting to freeze their asses off out here in chilly western Pennsylvania,perhaps I shouldn’t ask them for anything else).

On a closing note, I think we landed our ‘God’ tonight.And let me tell you something: everyone was waaaaaaay off.
