- Word comes to us that “Clerks” will be showing in Canada tonight on the Showcase channel. Here’s the not-so-flattering write-up from “Broadcast Week” on the showing:
“Clerks (1994)…Kevin Smith made this for about $30,000 and it went on to make afew million. Thus it has been highly influential to hordes of indie American filmmakers. Smith just filmed a bunch of unknown actors doing his script – about a day in the life of a convenience store clerk and his pal from the video store next door. They josh, joke, and carry on foul mouthed routines about their boring existence. The film feels fresh and imaginative because these guys talk like real Generation X know-it-alls. Smith (/Mallrats, Chasing Amy/) hasn’t made a decent film since.”
What a bunch of hosers, ‘eh? But hey, it’s very rare we have Canadian News Askew, so we thought you’d like to hear it.
- Looks like we overlooked a cruical “…Ate My Balls” page yesterday, so, if yesterday’s taste wasn’t enough for ya, here’s the encore: The “Olaf Ate My Balls Page”. Scary stuff, man.
