  • One of our scoopers (a comic rep) lets us know that Diamond has submitted their invoice for what shops can expect to see THIS WEDNESDAY, and both the Holiday Special and the Figures are listed on there, meaning that they’ll be IN STORES DECEMBER 23rd!!!!! Diamond should have a complete list of what’s shipping this week up at their website on Monday afternoon. We haven’t seen the final versions of the figures yet ourselves, so we’re quite pleased to hear this.
  • We neglected to mention an all-important review that appears on the Catcher In The Rye in DareDevil #4 – Everyone seems to have missed the fact that at the bottom of the book (Catcher In The Rye) after Mewes has his quote, you can also see the following: “………….” – Bob. Oh, by the way, CSNsider made it official – Not only will Kevin’s DD run indeed extend to 8 issues, he’ll be back for MORE later on. Yes!
  • Finally today, a couple of links for you fine folks to check out: First, a new club’s been created at Yahoo specifically for Dogma. It’s designed as another place to reply to controversy and chat about the movie. Check it out HERE. Also, we were asked if we could give a plug to this page, with just small sections on each of the View Askew flicks. HERE it be.

Alright, back to the rat race that is the Christmas shopping season. ‘Til next time…

  • If you’re a frequenter to the View Askew WWWBoards, you know this, but if not, you may want to check out this board, where the three took a couple hours to answer a TON of questions. Here’s a summary of some of the interesting stuff that we learned:
    • Kevin says to expect the Mallrats Special Edition DVD/Laserdisc sometime in MARCH or APRIL.
    • Jay revealed that he has a fiance and is thus getting married sometime in the near future.
    • Kevin will attempt to cut Dogma down to a 2:10 – 2:15 running time, just by editing out bits of dialogue, but not any complete scenes or total sequences.
    • Dogma will be submitted to Cannes in March with hopes that it will premiere there in May.

That’s actually about it…Lots of other question-answering, but that’s the stuff we thought you’d REALLY want to know.

  • Well, it’s the last weekend before Christmas, and yes, there’s still shopping to be done. Ugh. But, instead of braving the malls (you KNOW this weekend will probably be even worse than after Thansgiving), we decided to check in with a News Askew update. Call it an excuse to avoid the madness for at least a few more hours. We finally had something to update Dogma: Rumor Control about, but it’s mainly just stuff you’ve read on this page as well (about the screening and stuff). In closing on that, by the way, sure, the film DOES run long and yes, there’s quite a bit of dialogue, but we all know that’s why Kev’s flicks are so great. We can certainly see why Kevin’s going to trim it down for mass consumption, but, when it’s done, there’s going to be a really tight flick with moments of great intelligent dialogue followed by completely wacky and humorous action sequences. It’s unlike anything we’ve seen before. Don’t worry, you will NOT be disappointed by this film! Okay, on with the news:
