Previews and Wizard have a TON of fantastic news and info from the realm of Askew in their latest issues. Here’s a quick summary of it all:
PREVIEWS:
1) In the merchandise section they are offering very cool “Mooby” t-shirts and hats. You WANT these, folks, trust us.
2) In the preview for Wizard # 92, they have a quote saying Kevin will have a section where he will pick his dream cast for a new Superman movie. Sounds like we’ll finally get to hear Kevin’s thoughts on who he would’ve liked to have seen in his flick!
WIZARD:
1) It is reported in the “buzzbin” that Kev is trying to get the rights to his characters from Mallrats to do a “comic adaption.” No word on whether this would be a new series or simply an adaptation of the movie into comic form. We’re hoping for the former.
2) On page 86 there is a big contest entitled “Spend the Holidays with Jay & Silent BoB” where you have to draw them in holiday get-up. Get some entries in there, artists!
3) Kevin is the #2 writer on the top creators list. Joey Q is the #7 artist.
4) DareDevil #1 is the #1 comic book in the Top 10 comics, and Jay and Silent Bob # 1 is listed as #2!!!

Well, it’s Christmas, the time of miracles, so here’s one for ya – An update, earlier than we’d planned! There’s a lot of stuff going on, most of it in the comics realm actually, but we thought you’d like to know ASAP all the same. By the way, reports are coming in from everywhere that the Jay & Silent Bob figures are on the shelves and looking great, as for the Clerks Holiday Special comic. Hope you got something nice in your stocking or under the tree this year! New poll topic (a bit early this week) comes to us courtesy of Doug Hanback and Kris Terrell. Chris Rock appears in the latest People Magazine as one of 1998’s 25 most interesting people. In this blurb, Dogma is mentioned along with costar Salma Hayek who called him a “comic philosopher”.
The new Wizard poster special came out this week. It contains a very cool painted poster of Jay and Silent Bob by mini-series artist Duncan Fegredo. Be sure and pick up your copy!
Stopped by History Askew lately? Brian informs us that it’s under constant updating, with a new section just added for the Clerks Holiday Special!

More Askew comic sightings, this time on the new HellBlazer: On the cover, JohnConstantine is leaning on a graphitti laden wall, looking like a bad ass,smoking a cigarette. Some graffiti on wall: one say’s “Red Bank Potzer”, anothersay’s “Boochies” , then there’s “Dante”, “Blunt” (was Jay there?), and one that sorta looks like it say’s Affleck, but all you can make out is the “fleck”. Anyone got the cover? Shoot us off a scan for the archives.
