- Kevin stopped by the web board again this weekend, making quite a lengthy post about his opinions on what others have been saying about his ego, the site, and lots more. Stop by the boards if you want to give the entire thing a read. Here’s the news-related info that Kevin revealed that you might want to hear. Mostly teaser type stuff for now, but we’ll have a followup as we learn more:
I like the movie an awful lot. I don’t know if it’ll do any business whatsoever. I think it’s going to be loved or hated, with little inbetween. Affleck seems to think it can make fifty million. I’m not sure if it’ll make five.
But at least I got to make it.
Some radical changes around the office, which I’m sure you’ll be hearing about later.
I think we’re going to have another Vulgarthon in the next few months (but no – it will not include ‘Dogma’; that’d be a seperate event, toward the end of the year), but the next big thing’s going to be the grand opening of the new Stash(more on that in the next two weeks).
Babe Askew continues to gestate nicely, thanks (there’s a BIG story behind that, which I’ll get to in the next few months).
And Jen, Malcolm and I watched ‘Drawing Flies’ again last night – me for the first time in awhile. It’s a damned fine watch, which some of you bashed, but deserves another viewing (which you’ll more than likely get at the next ‘Thon). Lee is amazing, and Mewes…
Well, let’s just say it’s a snapshot of a time long since gone.
Onward and upward for ’99, good people.
Personally, we think Dogma will definitely make it’s money if the Miramax campaign is good and the movie finds its niche. It’s a good film, and it tells a fairly deep story, so hopefully the buzz will get this across to sell those tickets. The ‘Max has done a good job with this in the past, in fact, they’re the best at it, so Dogma should do quite well. We’ll of course stay on top of the new Stash opening, and the proposed Vulgarthon ’99. Stay tuned, sounds like there’s good things to come!
