- Kevin’s made good on his promise to be around more often…This time, he’s stopped by the board for a VA personnel update, and even answered a few questions! Some good stuff in here. We’ve summaried some of the best. Check it out:
KEVIN : We’ve been asked.
Rolando : Hey, if I order the action figures from The Stash do they come signed?
KEVIN : The Silent Bob figure does.
FearAndBullets : Would you ever consider Danny Elfman for one of your film scores?
KEVIN : We did. We screened it for Danny, and he dug it. But he said he’d need 12 weeks to do the score (based on the fact that there’s over an hour of cues), and we could only offer him four.We’ve got our composer almost locked now. When it’s official, I’ll let you know.
motorbooty : …er…I mean, is Kevin Smith a member? Of the Academy?
KEVIN : Yes. I was asked to join a few months ago. Got me a membership card and all.
motorbooty : Does Kev get to vote on the Oscars this year?
KEVIN : Yes (and it won’t be for ‘Ryan’, it’ll be for the Stoppard/Madden delight).

To that, Bill Woods has also moved on. We’re indebted to Bill for all the work he did on finishing ‘Big Helium Dog’.He’ll be missed.
Nic (who sometimes answered the phone when you called for swag on the Stash line) quit. I’ll miss him. He was a good egg. Funny too.
And I fired Kim.
Just kidding – she’s still running things.
Walter is now the full-time Stash employee – a position we begged him to take two years ago, when we opened the store. His reservations about job security in a comic book store have disappeared though, in light of the fact that the Stash is wildly profitable.
There were other massive changes over the holiday, but those are the only ones that would effect or interest you guys, I believe.
So there ya go. If you needed extra incentive to order from the Stash, there ya go! A signedSilent Bob figure! As for the Elfman thing, we’d heard about this from Kevin when he screenedthe Dogma cut for us, but were keeping mum on the subject since nothing was clarified. So, there’sthe answer to the “secret” original composer choice and why it got changed. We’ll let you knowwho the new guy is as soon as we’re able!
